Powerlevel is arguably one the most pointless things in Destiny. What is the actual point? I have my Hunter at 1821. I go into an 1830 activity, then I see that my power is only effective up to 1815. Therefore 6 power level is deducted from my overall power, worse for those that are 1830 as they lose 15 power. So, grinding out my power to be nerfed is really stupid. And it's like that for any endgame PvE activity. It makes no sense. And on top of that, everything at our power is already an ohko bullet-sponge as it is. This isn't me whining about the difficulty changes or anything, I just feel that there is no point in hitting the hard cap and grinding out artifact levels if nothing matters after a certain point.
It's a lame attempt at artificial difficulty. Just like anything a foot taller than us stomping the ground to knock us back or instantly kill.

I could not agree more. I'm 1834 and being penalized for grinding to that level is asinine. I will not go into any activity that punishes me for playing the game anymore. I might just stop playing altogether unless this stupidity stops. I should be able to do any activity at my power level period.

Did you not know this was coming? It was communicated countless times prior to lightfall release. These fixed difficulties basically removed the power grind and I’m super happy about it. I no longer have to no life the game to get into higher tier content. I see this as a good thing…..

1 Antwortenok so there’s no power level grind next season, let’s see how it goes. I’m willing to bet a bunch of players are going to miss chasing the number. Imo, im super happy they are slowly reducing the power level grind. I no longer have to no life the game just to keep up.
-
The streamers seam to be happy with the upcoming changes

24 AntwortenIt will be interesting to see what incentive players will have to play if there’s no power level to increase. I’m sure as schitt not going to dump hours into a game where there’s nothing to chase. I hit 1830 recently and was like “why?” Guess I’m done for this season after GMs drop. Well done Bungie.
-
I wish it were like Borderlands. The more you level up, the more you just One Shot enemies
-
4 AntwortenI dont see this changing anytime soon, they want to make there game harder by making us weaker, granted i still have my op weapons and builds, but being 20 light levels below the enemy on a consistent basis is not fun or rewarding, its just cheap.

2 Antworten
Powerlevel is a pointless grind.
Well, that’s because everything is a pointless grind. Game is so pointless there is nothing wholesome or fun about it anymore. They say it’s a looter, but sometimes the loot you need doesn’t drop. It’s not like you don’t play the game, you play but it’s so rigged it doesn’t even drop the loot that you want or need. Hamster wheeling ain’t fun if you ain’t a hamster.🤣 And that’s what this game has been like. Pointless. These guys are a one trick pony with Halo. I can’t even believe anymore that these guys made Halo. I’m like who made Halo? These guys?! No way! How could a turd like this come from the guys who made Halo?! But here we are. Like I said, a one trick pony.🤣

3 AntwortenBearbeitet von Sen: 4/5/2023 1:21:29 PMI honestly think about this when I play Destiny. I imagine a Destiny that takes notes from FFXIV. No time gates. The servers run fine. Nothing is Sunset. You can experience Destiny from the first game all the way to LightFall in one game. No minimum light level. The new light experience is going through the old tower as you go to the black garden for the first time. Before you know it, you're doing Scourge of the Past. And soon after? Vow and Root. Starting off from 100 light or something. All the content that has led up to now is just..... in the game. No time limits. No time gates besides events like Solstice and Dawning, etc. All content we have experienced wrapped in a nice. 60 dollar bundle (or probably more). Seasonal activities also stay. But the game can't handle all of that content. It's not made for it like other MMOS are. We also wouldn't have seasons. They would update us when a patch is coming out and have an event before a major patch (season equivalent or higher) that would give us bonus rewards. Stuff that can only be gotten in raids obtainable by solo players by simply grinding a lot of something. Probably playlist activities. No one's progress is EVER erased. The only thing is that light cap does increase with EACH Expansion and slightly with every major update. Artifact level stays forever. Also actually playing the game contributes more than bounties. Actual completions of activities. And don't get me started on how we can't get a lot of stuff IN GAME. We could have so much stuff to chase if a lot of the stuff that's cool looking WASNT LOCKED BEHIND A PAYWALL. That assassin's Creed armor could have been in a quest. Ritual weapons? Quest that tells a story. Solo Flawless dungeon clear? How's a bout an exotic sparrow and/or a ghost? Or cool armor? Some incentive would be nice.

1 AntwortenPower level is used mostly to gate access to pve activities. In pvp modes that use power levels, the application is so broad that it’s largely irrelevant. In either case power level is simply an incentive to grind.

1 AntwortenBearbeitet von LocoToopa: 4/6/2023 8:38:35 PMThey have already stated they are going to remove it. I can't wait for the posts saying there's nothing to do. 🤣 Oh and all difficulty is artificial. It's a video game! You just label difficulty that you don't like as artificial lol

2 AntwortenI actually recommend going two weeks without playing the game. Then with its absence determine how you feel. I gave it a break, and personally I’ve been happier without this game. Might not be the same for you, but taking a chance away from it is a chance to reevaluate.
-
Rumor has it that it’s going away soon, probably next season or two l cause people hate it and it hate keeps people from content. They are replacing it with Artifact leveling.
-
1 AntwortenEverything is pointless in this game... specially as it is reaching the end of its life... we get less and less true content and the focus is on quality of life features that become selling motivators for whole seasons... and the constant nerfs and buffs, buffs and nerfs to keep this game trending and feeding the streamer/influencer economy.. without really changing the sandbox or introducing new interesting mechanics to it .. like that guy in the office that keeps pushing papers all day without really producing anything while being paid like everyone else... Honnestly most of the games coming out nowadays (and most take 2-4 years to produce) are less expensive and offer way more that what destiny has been offering for a while now.. just my opinion.

100 AntwortenBearbeitet von TheShadow: 4/4/2023 11:11:05 PM
Powerlevel is a pointless grind.
What are you talking about, most of the grind in this game is pointless. There is no goal, no set path. There is no purpose at all other than to laugh at you guys when they reset you every single season to watch you do the same dumb things over and over and over again 😂 It's actually quite funny looking at how they designed a barebone game. Hell, they might as well add a hamster wheel as an exotic, but make sure you pick up the legendary one first to get you warmed up 👍
-
yea this is pretty much why i stopped playing after the witch queen, finished campaign , then i realized from there its just the same pointless grind and all my upgraded armor and weapons are useless again so went to other games that are actually fun and rewarding instead of just chasing a number by playing same boring old content to unlock raid this time around i didnt even get the new DLC because for the price just having a short campaign then having to repeat the chore is not worth the money
-
Why play the game ?
-
I like thee current system. I enjoy a power level climb once per expansion, but not every season.
-
They’re getting rid of it in season 21 lol
-
1 AntwortenTrue. Been saying it for a while now and it’s funny that it took this long for people to realize. Power is just a number with no actual meaning in this game. Provides no real benefits. Zero reason to increase your power if they’re going to cap you to create artificial difficulties anyways. But if they remove power completely then they’ll have to find another way to keep people playing. They may have to try and actually make activities….fun AND rewarding. And unfortunately that actually requires work and effort
-
9 AntwortenREMOVE POWER LEVEL ADVANTAGES FROM TRIALS Level advantages change how engagements play out, and Trials should NOT be the least consistent mode
-
4 AntwortenAgree. I decided to stop the grind. I’m Not at the season power level yet . Someone in the clan pointed this out so basically we all stopped. Why grind. Going to do some iron banner. And few things …. But really almost done playing destiny. Sad time. But just can not get myself motivated to the time spent on the grind. And Bungie doesn’t care.
-
2 AntwortenCorrect. Its exactly what people have been begging for on the forums for the last 4 years. Side note: There is no such thing as artificial difficulty. Things are either difficult or not.
-
Stopped doing it years ago ….the weekly pinnacle was just tedious. I seem to do ok just playing how I want to . It’s such a old way to go in a video game …..Bungie just needs to open it all up !
-
3 AntwortenTbh I don’t know what else they could do to keep people playing the game. It seems like the main reason people come back to the game is to grind power level. Considering max light was 400 in D1 it seems absolutely outlandish that the current max is 1800+ but what else can they do

Since when it has a point?
