Doing the quest for Ticuu's Divination's catalyst and it's driving me up the wall.
What kind of role/niche are bows supposed to fill?
Long range? Scouts and snipers beat them there.
Scouts need more shots but you can more efficiently time them due to no string pulling.
Snipers have a similar peek-risk but way better payoff since they can insta-kill on a crit.
Plus both scouts and snipers are hitscan, while bows are projectiles.
Are bows supposed to be a charge-up weapon? Fusions beat them up close because they are way more forgiving with their spread and more powerful projectiles. And linear fusions are the choice for long range charge up weapons, as they have a way better peel-risk/reward payoff like snipers.
I honestly struggle to find a reason why anyone would use a weapon that
-Puts you into a ttk disadvantage in a gunfight
-Has a charge time
-Fires projectiles, is not hitscan
-Doesn't even one hit kill on a critial
The single, sole thing bows have going for them is the "perfect shot" where you release at the right time.
But even then, why would you use a charge-up weapon where you must hit the right moment yourself when both fusion rifle variants do the job for you? I find no practical argument for using bows whatsoever.

No place in the game? Lol wow. All i'm say is i disagree. And i cant wait till they rework solar and arc. i'm gonna have even more fun with those exotic bows, like i am with le monarque right now.
