I have been blessed to have made a lot of friends playing Destiny over the past 7 years. But on Jan. 1st of this year I lost my best friend to covid-19. While he was in the hospital, I sent him a text telling him that I had reached season pass level 1,000. He texted back that he was proud of me. Given that I am almost 60 years-old, that meant a lot. That was just the kind of friendship we had. We both were combat veterans. Myself an Army Paratrooper, and he was a Navy Corpsman.
What I didn't know at the time was that he would soon die. After multiple combat tours in Afghanistan and Iraq, he dies from stupid covid. It was at that point I decided to dedicate doing another 1,000 season pass levels to him. Some thought I was crazy, but it was something I had to do. But during the course of doing it, I ended up in the hospital with covid pneumonia as well. For 5 weeks I was sicker than I had ever been but finally I got better and started back on my journey.
Today, I am proud to say that I have ended this season with a season pass level of 2004. This is for you "Doc" Gibby!
