PLEASE add matchmaking across the board

I noticed a trend that many people have zero faith in the player bases ability to figure out raids without communicating . I find it absolutely ridiculous that it's so common a belief and it feels like bungie is reenforcing this lack of faith in humanity by refusing to add matchmaking to all aspects of the game. I'm sure there are examples of public events and such where the the majority of players could not figure out a game mechanic. Expecting players to manually find youtube explanations or experienced players who were lucky enough to figure it out is a terrible gaming model. There should be in game methods for helping players figure out the complex gaming mechanics or at least hand holding tutorials for inexperienced players. By not allowing matchmaking you are isolating and losing introverted players who struggle with communicating, potential long term customers, and people who suffer from anti-social disorders. My argument is that maybe raids will have a longer completion time for players that have never played them before but over time the number of players who figure it out will outweigh the amount of players who can't. Even the super repetitive strikes need manual LFG for the hard mode or "Nightfall" which makes no sense, it's not completely different it's just harder. Please have more faith in humanities ability to learn and problem solve, we have come so far in the past few decades technologically speaking and the future looks bright. I'm certain the game would have many returning players and also newer players with this added feature. Some compromises for the nay sayers might be add a ranking system to keep the experienced players with experienced players, add soft raids for inexperienced players and hard raids similar to nightfall to appease the hardcore gamers who might whine that the game got nerfed. Personally I have been a fan of Destiny from game 1 but I have never played a trials of Osiris match even though I really wanted to get the armor but was never great at crucible. Doesn't anyone at bungie care about players like that? Again, please add matchmaking across the board. I really want to keep playing destiny but doing just the current matchmaking activities can get repetitive and can be extremely infuriating when trying to do a quest that requires a manual group hence why I personally have stopped playing.

  • As long as it’s optional matchmaking. I am surprised to see how many people get fired up on this topic. If it’s ‘optional’ then it will never affect people that use LFG or play with clans / friends. ‘Optional’ matchmaking will not have any bearing whatsoever on the way they currently play the activities. Who cares if the activities are doomed to fail due to no communication etc?! Open it up to the player base and eventually people will see that to progress / finish some of these activities, they’ll need the benefits of a prepared fire team. The difference will be that these people will have more confidence to enter fireteams from experience of playing the activity as opposed to relying solely on YouTube videos.
