Listening to Saladin's dialogue throughout Season of the Chosen, is anyone else feeling a little...unsettled by Saladin's stance when it comes to the Cabal? Certainly, he has every reason to dislike the Cabal, after everything the various Legions have done to the Solar System and Humanity as a whole.
However, he's gone as far as to talk about eliminating the Cabal once and for all, he's being questioned by the other characters when they speak to him during the Battlegrounds dialogue. I just got a dialogue between him and Amanda about how the Guardians should start taking the fights to their enemies rather than waiting for them to come after them when talking about the Psion's attempt on Zavala's life. While Amanda asserts that Guardians guard, and are not invaders, Saladin states, and I'm paraphrasing, that it is perhaps time that changes.
Perhaps many will disagree, but it sounds like he's skirting dangerously close to the ideologies of the Darkness with his desire for a "no quarter" approach to dealing with the Cabal. With what we know of the Darkness' ideology, it'd probably appreciate the mentality Saladin is skirting towards. Something the Darkness or it's minions could take advantage of, if given the opportunity.
