If Warframe can have 8+ planets, so can D2!
It just astounds me that Bungie can say and honestly believe that you need to sunset some planets and destinations to allow space.
Destiny is for me, above everything else, a game with a plethora of choice. Getting rid of older content to pave the way for new content may seem like adding choice, but realistically at this point it seems like we're having our content that in some cases we have paid for taken away.
If the game feels stale, taking away content, only to replace it with content that is inevitably going to get stale if nothing is done with it is not going to work. The game world needs to become adaptable, and it needs to feel like Bungie are actually listening to us.

It doesn’t matter how many planets there are if the GB size is less. It also runs on a different engine, and naturally takes up less file size because the graphics and design are low quality. Warframe is a low-budget game made with 2010 graphics and characters that look like they were drawn by a pre-pubescent child. Why anyone compares this game to Destiny or any AAA title is beyond me.

2 AntwortenThe problem with the Warframe analogy is that most "planets" are just different levels with a similar theme. Not to mention Warframe re-uses assets WAY more than D2 does, or at least more obviously, as many different levels have extremely similar layouts to each other, with nigh-identical looks, just shuffled around a bit in terms of layout. It's more fair to compare the open worlds of Warframe to the patrol zones in Destiny. Going by sheer quantity, Destiny beats Warframe out (I belive, Warframe now has 3 open world areas, and D2, not counting the 4 sunset ones, but counting Europa and Cosmodrome has... 7, unless I'm miscounting). In terms of vastness and "stuff to do," I can't say for certain since I haven't really... Warframe's new player experience is godawful so I don't know if I've gotten there or not or what's happening. A better comparison might be WoW or maybe Borderlands, even if neither is 100% a perfect comparison.

6 AntwortenThere's a theory going around that the Destiny Content Vault has a secondary purpose other than to simply make the game smaller to improve performance. It says that while activities and destinations are inside the DCV, Bungie will be going through them to tweak/refurbish them for when they come back out. This could range from bug fixes to tweaking game settings/adding new mechanics. It can also include giving the planets an overhaul to get them ready for next gen. Take this theory with a grain of salt as I've only seen it from two sources so far, but it could make sense of why they're doing what they're doing.

4 AntwortenIf Warframe can vault guns (among other things) so can Destiny! And if Warframe can bring them back from time to time with changes and updates, so can Destiny! If Warframe can have weapons you grind for that after awhile you have to toss aside because their (for lack of a better term) power level won't work for new content, so can Destiny! Oh wait, I that's what Destiny is doing now..... for the most part. Yet don't see anywhere near as much complaints from people from other games like Warframe....

Warframe isn't really fair considering most of the "worlds" are like the size of a story mission in destiny. The planes of eidolon is more like a destiny map, just more empty.

It is funny how Destiny has so much redundant stuff within the programming. Yet Bungie refuses to update the game in a way to reduce file size and just keeps letting it get bloated. Now they are using that as an excuse to remove content and the brain washed masses praise them for it.

Warframe predominately uses procedurally generated tile sets rather than a persistent singular planet space, which saves significant amounts of game space.

“procedurally generated” it’s like no one thinks, the game has like 5 tiles sets (you really only spend time at 1) and 3 open world all of which are ok.

But then Bungie couldn't make a couple of little tweaks to the planets and then sale them back to us.

Hey not only that. If COD can run on 64fps so can destiny. If battlefield can have 120 players on a pvp map with tanks planes, and helicopters so can destiny. Minecraft we can craft new weapons so can destiny. I can be a genious expert rocket surgeon, and game developer too.
