This is going to end in disaster, I guarantee it. I’m a mediocre player at best, and I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been launched into matches in progress with spawn traps in full swing, woefully mismatched opponents, and teammates throwing in the towel. I literally just left a match where I was left alone for most of the time and the other team raced around to see who could kill me first. Running full meta, I might add. That BS about high end players relaxing and going off-meta? I sure haven’t seen it. This is where someone comes in and calls me names, tells me to git gud, quit playing, all the regular stuff. Fine, I agree, I’ll quit PvP. Why on Earth Bungie believes the bulk of the base is going to volunteer to go through what I’ve seen over the last few days over and over eludes me. I mean, it’s not like we have Trials as a perfect example of what happens when casuals get run out. High end players want to own, they don’t want to play players on their own level. They don’t care how pitifully overmatched the other side is - in fact, the more the better. That last match I played was the perfect example. They were falling all over one another to kill the lone opponent with Mountaintops, Felwinters, Spare Rations, Redrick’s... Makes life easier for me. Won’t feel compelled to enter that nonsense anymore, just like Trials. And I’ll confess, I’m going to be laughing my butt off in a few short weeks when the top players start whiny about how sweaty Quickplay is again.
