No offence, but your response to Rangers post is everything I hate about the forums.
I have mained Warlock since Day 1 D1 Beta, I have had other classes but only play Warlock due to desire and time available. I have Unbroken in Crucible and finish (For the most part) at the top of the table in most of my games.
Everything Ranger posted in his initial post was bang on correct and nothing frustrates me more than people jumping on with the weakest counter points that clearly display their lack of knowledge of the Warlock class as a whole.
Examples of weak counter points people present that prove they have no idea about the class as a whole. The rest of the equation (That warlocks know) which people fail to acknowledge or factor for when writing these shallow responses is written below each quote.
"But Warlocks have blink"
Which has 4 penalties working against it (Due to bungie over reacting to it being spammed in D1 with shotguns resulting in the following penalties.....
1.The blink trail takes damage.
2.Penalized with loss of radar.
3.Penalized with slower weapon ready speed.
4.There is a cool down only allowing for two blinks in a row before having to run for awhile to reset it. (Of which there is no cool down timer for)
(For the record, in my opinion the loss of radar and weapon ready restrictions do need to be in play but the lengthy cool down and blink trail damage do not.)
This results in Warlocks pretty much having to use Astrocyte verse or for blink to be a viable movement choice in PVP.
"But Warlocks have Icarus Dash"
On one perk tree out of nine. (This does not make the the Gods of movement across all classes by a long shot.
"Warlocks can heal in an instant with Rift and they have devour"
Rift takes the longest time to charge of all class abilities, it has the slowest animation, it's benefits are not active instantly, it requires more armor energy points to spec into recovery compared to mobility for the hunter dodge and resilience for titan barricade, it locks you in one place to make use of it and can't be placed mid gun fight.
Devour is great in PVE but very situational in PVP and really doesn't allow you to go on mad killing sprees given the TTK values in PVP. The user must get a kill with their melee to activate devour, or absorb a grenade. Also its super sucks in PVP as a shutdown. (Hardly any blast radius and doesn't even compare to the likes of blade barrage.
"But Warlocks have Hand Held Super Nova"
Which easily kills the user, has a long charge time and a short hold time meaning everything has to work out right for it to be decent. (while I do believe that it should have to be thought out to be used well / effectively, in this regard bungie did what they always do and over nerfed it. I agree with Ranger that the hold time should be slightly lengthened.
"Warlocks have the best movement in the game"
No they don't. They can run the fastest in a straight line but that's not all that encapsulates "movement" and by far isn't the most important part in PVP. (Hence Hunters being the most commonly used PVP class for high level comp and general PVP) Double and Triple jump are king with no drawbacks in Crucible. I would like to see this changed some day.
"You must be using it wrong if you can't win with Warlock"
I can win with Warlock and do with with Warlock. It just takes a lot more skill and though.
Also just because some people can do well with something doesn't mean that it's balanced with other classes in terms of the amount of drawbacks something may have like the ones mentioned by Ranger.

Spot on and better than what I posted. I have tried many times before to explain that movement / reaction speed doesn't equal sprint speed. Blink actually puts you in two places at the same time and you can get killed in either one of them. Rift.....You summed it up nicely......I can't say any more. A hunters dodge by comparison is simply OP. Warlock are also the only class to not have exotics that enhance a weapons class like Hunters and Titan have.....think oath keepers, etc. Our exotics are all ability driven....and they are pretty weak at that.

Good job
