I came back with new light after quitting during Season of the Drifter. Overall I have to say year 3 has been decent but this was only fun because going through content I missed I met people to play with. We went through the old stuff and raids. I made a second account. Honestly the last 7 months have maybe been even more fun than Destiny 1 was. But when my guns and being able to enjoy the game I PAID FOR ends so do my payments. The game is a huge amount of fun when you are actually doing things you enjoy. Whether it is Strikes, Crucible, Gambit, Raids, Menagerie, etc... I think you get the point currently you can do tasks you enjoy use the weapons you want and have a good time. However telling us you want to force us into content people may not enjoy leading to massive boycotts forcing you to choke on bad ideas (think about your Seraph Tower nonsense) is just not a good policy. Let me lay out 5 quick points why this won't work below for a quick read. 1. New Players- These people will never ever get help doing raids to get items they would like that they have seen because they will not start with the latest expansion and nobody will waste hours every week for months at a time for old gear. (Anarchy and One Thousand Voices) 2. Returning Players Getting the New Expansion- Will want to use the items they currently have and not an autoloading holster/hip fire grip piece of trash current drop when going into new content because their old weapons are too low of light and uninfusable. Sorry I did the campaign with my trash ballyhoo while killing Ghaul on xbox one not going through that nonsense again. 3. Anyone Currently Playing- People will not want to waste 20-100+ hours for a single item to use for a year. This might actually take me a year to do depending on how fun the activity is. (Lunas Howl Took me 18 months to earn and would have already been obsolete) 4. Older Enjoyable Activities- These will need to be sunset as well. I like the old raids (Leviathan/Spire/Eater/Scourge) and things like the Black Armory Forges. These now will be obsolete and useless to do. I don't always have 6 people on to run through a new raid or 2-3 to run through a new activity. Doing new random events with trash gear is not what I expect 3 years into a game. I expect Quality of Life improvements not a forced nonessential amputation essentially. 5. Time Investment Versus Reward- People play games with loot to get the item that fits their playstyle. Gun A has 4 Items (Barrel, Mag/Ammo, Perk 1, Perk 2). You play for the latter two to have what you enjoy. If it is a drop rate of 5% for the items and you ignore the first two options but have 10 options in each of the perks. This amounts to 2,000 completions of the activity to potentially get what you want. (For a 10 minute activity that is 20,000 minutes or 333 hours and 20 minutes per item) Your whole system needs reworked on how we get loot for retirement to even be viable.
