Do you fellow adults with 9-5s still actually play?
I haven’t played in god knows how long. I used to love the game and grind for raids mostly but man I’ve even skipped the last two raids. Just watched them on twitch instead. I don’t think I could have functioned in my adult life anymore and continued playing Destiny. Doing tasks I “need to do” felt a lot like a second job. Now I only play games that I can have some pure fun in with no real tasks and hop on and off. Like Apex.
I decided towards the beginning of last year I would no longer play or buy expansions until they got to the point with the story. I’m talking Savathun shows up or the rest of the Darkness Pyramid ships. Otherwise I’m done with these little side stories taking up my time. How do you guys still handle it? Do you still love it as much as Destiny 1?

I work like that too. I can usually get 2 nights a week in Destiny. I love it, but honestly I love the lore and the lore is still great. This season, Season of Dawn has been one of my favorite in terms of story. But it could be because I thought Saint-14 was amazing back in D1 year 1, and now he is here. The character development has been good. In terms of gameplay there hasn't been a huge change at present. But I love the universe, which keeps me engaged. I play other games too. Some weeks I only log in for 10 minutes. But most weeks I am getting 6 or 8 hours in D2. The trick is to play D2 you have to often sacrifice something when you work, have a spouse, kids, etc. I sacrifice being active in other games. Just don't have enough time to do all of the games I want.

34 AntwortenAre there really 9 to 5 jobs?I think everyone in USA is 8 to 5 if they get a lunch break. 9 to 5 wouldn’t give a 40 hour work week.

Yes but not every night like I used to, the game burns me out. I’ve already but I’m 8 hours of grind IRL. I don’t wanna grind all night or sweat my ass off when I’m trying to relax and enjoy myself with friends after a hard days graft.

I completely stopped playing well before this new 'seasons' model and it sure feels good. 2 AntwortenI play a bit but mostly just because I don’t want my annual pass to be wasted. Got it with SK. Had I known all the content each season would vanish I wouldn’t have bought it. It is indeed like a second (unpaid) job.

24 AntwortenTo answer the question I had a relationship that ended December 9th. “ Single now “ Yahooooooooooo ! Became homeless because apartment is toooo expensive. Moved my things to storage. I’m staying at a Veterans Homeless dormitory style shelter. Bought a mobile wifi unit from Verizon. Bought a small tv. And still play Destiny 2 because it is my coping mechanism. I need to get away from reality. This is my get away. It is better to play Destiny 2 than to be on drugs or suicide. I am homeless but: I work 2 jobs. I wake up 513am commute to work. Start my boring job at 8am - finish 2pm. Start 2nd boring job at 5pm come home around 1am - 2am. I have Sundays off in the morning hours and All Tuesdays off. I play when I can. I am still playing the black forge missions. 968 Warlock 950 Hunter 870 Titan I love playing all of them because I spent money playing Destiny 2 and gosh darn it. Lol Lol F Bomb..... I will play all of them. It is not boring for me because I played vanilla Destiny 1 with nothing to do. I have invested a lot of money in Destiny. I wish Destiny would do matchmaking for raids and etc. Forget about the Beta. I have the “ Rat killa “ bounty or quest for all my guardians un-completed. I do not have the “ perfected “ gun. I tried to complete the sundial corridors of time quest completed it. Procrastinated and the quest line disappeared. I guess I have to complete it in a weeks time. Someday I will get that quest completed. Never done a Raid before. Met toxic players and players who fabricate that they can carry me but fell short of the starting line. If you watched, “ Aliens “ and Corporal Hicks says, “ Stay frosty we can’t let one of those f bombs come in here. “ That feels like Destiny 2. I got a job to do. Hahaha defend Earth from aliens. That is the appeal I get from Destiny. Final notes: I love Destiny and all my guardians and the fine people that make content and make the game awesome. Thanks devs and all Destiny 2 community

I’m surprised at all these “I work 75-100 hours a week “ or “I’m a corporate ceo” comments. Really? I’m an astronaut with 17 kids , work 124 hours a week and I still play everyday. [spoiler]dont believe what you read on the internet kids [/spoiler]

I’m a flight attendant so for a long time I could only play when I was home. A lot of times I would be out of town during weekend events and miss out. Now that there’s cross save I can play in the hotel on my laptop which definitely helps. When I’m home I tend to have more responsibilities occurring lately and can’t commit. I usually can’t get into raid commitments like I used to so I do smaller things. I did finally give the latest dungeon a go and loved it. We were at the final encounter but my friend had to get off because of his responsibilities as well. We’ll try again next week maybe.

Nope, I stopped last year. Logged in for maybe 20 mins total in 2020. I haven’t got time to forge 30,000,000 miccrospasmial pieces to fuel a fuselage of plopograms for a month for a trash emblem that will probably disappear with the next season anyway. Fuk that shoite

I do the following these days: Log in. Clear Postmaster and engrams. Pick up bounties from Shaxx and Gunsmith. Play a few matches in Crucible. Log off. Play Witcher 3 for the rest of my free time. Before this I enjoyed completing the Harbinger seal. Also did Savior and Undying but those seem like freebies.

I work out of town week on week off. I have a family that requires my attention. Last time I logged in it just wasn’t fun anymore! I feel lost, overwhelmed, and just confused. I honestly do not know what to do anymore and game the only slight enjoyment I have is doing strikes.This last dlc was the first time I did not make the purchase.Are used to get a lot of enjoyment out of this game. Now it just feels like a chore that I don’t have time for.

I work a 7-3 job and have time to play but I've lost interest in D2 it feels too much like work unlike in D1 where I could do nightfall and weekly all in a couple of 1-3 hours and then prepare for raiding on the weekend all 3 of my characters. Now I do dailies and weekly (if I get on D2) on only 1 character because it's not fun anymore I just feel like its a unsatisfying run for gear that can't compare to D1. Legendaries don't feel good using over half the time and exotics are not even exotics

I still play in between my grind for synthesis materials and prep for the data battles in the Kingdom Hearts 3 DLC. Kind of digging the fact that they're doing little side stories like this. You don't HAVE to play if you don't want to, but if you do, then there's a quick thing to do before you jump off and head into another game.

When I was working I had plenty of time to play, it’s called scheduling yourself to have tome to play, two of my friends also work jobs with long hours and yet they have plenty of time to play, one is already Season rank 100+ the other is rank 80+ but has been playing other games.

Mostly been treating this game as something on the side to do occasionally when I’m not working or hanging out with the kids. (And there’s nothing else to do) It’s just not as fun as it used to be.

Two week on/two off schedule, usually get a fair bit of time to play. This season has pushed back the addiction. Definitely the least I’ve played this game in a longgg time.

You know what's crazy. This is a live service game with no offline play. In like 12 years this game wont even be around anymore. It's not like borderlands or skyrim where you can just boot it up and look at your shining achievements or rewards for your adventures. Or replay the story and enrich yourself in the lore. No all your hours of effort will just fade away.
