That's a multiplayer game
-
Bearbeitet von The First Aifos: 1/31/2020 3:33:01 PMI play it single player. It’s only as multiplayer as Dark Souls, and lots of people are suggesting that one.
-
I'd argue with that, remnant from the ashes was clearly built as a multiplayer game while dark souls a singleplayer game with multiplayer aspects
-
I don’t really see how. They both have almost the exact same multiplayer mechanics. Is Remnant only “multiplayer focused” because it’s a shooter?
-
No a shooter doesn't make it multiplayer, it's the fact that content is specifically designed to be replayed over and over again and each player has randomized events
-
It’s called a Roguelite. There are lots of single player Roguelites.
-
And yet this Roguelite is multiplayer
-
As I said, it’s only as multiplayer as Dark Souls. If Remnant doesn’t count, neither do they.
-
Remnant is like Destiny. Multiplayer with the option of single player Dark souls is like cuphead: single player with the option of multiplayer One was designed for singleplayer while the other wasn't
-
Then what makes it “designed for multiplayer” besides being a Roguelite—which doesn’t?
-
It was just built to be a multiplayer game from its conception, just look at it. Compare it to a game like halo that was clearly built to be a single player campaign and then later built the idea of having split screen
-
I don’t see the difference.
-
Then I can't change your mind and we'll just need to move on with our lives
-
We can agree to disagree, but I’ve got a question, first; When you first got the game, did you get it already under the impression it was multiplayer? Because if so then it would make sense if you viewed the game through that lense. On the other hand I was gifted the game with no idea what it was, and my impression of it comes from the mechanics alone. The difference between Remnant, and a game like Destiny or Borderlands, is if you only played those games alone, you’d get locked off from Strikes, Raids, and “Invincible” bosses, where as in Remnant, at least as far as I’ve seen, there’s no such lock. All content in the game can be completed without ever seeing another player, and that makes it a single player game, imo.
-
Borderlands doesn't lock you out is stuff from what I understand
-
Well, yes, you can challenge the raid bosses alone, but they’re designed to be fought as a group. Without cheats or exploits, it’s not realistically possible for an average player to beat the Invincible bosses alone.
-
Then again Borderlands is also a multilayer focused game
-
I agree. Borderlands and Destiny are, but onless Remnant has some multiplayer only events I just haven’t seen yet, it’s not, imo.
-
But here's the thing, remnant isn't dark souls. So to say that it's multiplayer feature is the same would be false In dark souls you're partner will disappear as soon as you beat the boss And invaders will immediately leave after they kill you or vice versa In remnant players stick together and actively benefit from one another with perks and abilities designed to aid one another
-
I didn’t say it was exactly like Dark Souls, I said it was similar. And there is only one perk that benefits from other players, all the rest are completely independant. Heck, Dark Souls has more co-op buffs than Remnant does, with various covenants that completely revolve around nothing but online.

Transistor!

I think why I believe their isn't anymore singles player titles is because I've never heard of em
-
Pop by the store every once and a while, and just browse around. You’ll find some. If you want some to look out for, keep an eye out for Ori and the Will of the Wisps, Hollow Knight: Silksong, and NSR: No Straight Roads.
