A PSA on Dawning Ingredients - Why They're Deadly or Otherwise Unappetizing

<This is a topic that's been bothering me for a while for the dumbest reasons. If you live under a rock or are otherwise tired of doing Destiny activities and know nothing of the Dawning, then buckle up. Throughout the event, you have to bake goods for various characters, and while most of it SOUNDS good, most of them are inedible. I don't mean that they don't taste good, I mean that the ingredients used to make them are poisonous... MOST of the ingredients are poisonous. In fact, only one of them isn't, and you won't believe which one it is. OK maybe you will, let's move on. Ether Cane Despite being the first ingredient you get when you start the quest to masterwork Eva's oven and make your life a whole lot easier as you mercilessly torture yourself grinding double XP bounties just so you can get your hands on some good looking armor, it's poisonous. That's right, Ether, the gas that the Fallen have to breathe in order to survive, is poisonous to humans. Not to mention that Ether itself is very hard to contain since it dissipates very quickly. So, not only are you going around trying to catch a gas within moments of being released, but you are also infusing it into what I assume would be a sugar cane given the item's icon. While it is poisonous, I'm not sure it can really kill you, but it won't be a fun time after ingestion. Dark Ether Cane Unlike Ether, which may or may not kill you, Dark Ether WILL kill you. It's easier to catch, now that it takes longer to dissipate and just hangs around like a moist cloud, but that's how it tricks you. It's Ether mixed with Blight, and has proven to kill regular Fallen just like Blight on its own kills people. Basically, don't drink/inhale Fikrul's blood. Cabal Oil I don't know who in their right mind thought that the programmable oil in a Cabal's pressurized suit would make for a good ingredient to bakery items, but they made it a thing. That's right, you're going around, murdering Cabal, and then scooping up the oil in their suits. Delicious, right? Like the oil we have, it will cause damage to your body, whether minor or major depending on how much you ingest. Chitin Powder This is gathered by taking Hive armor and grinding it into a fine, well, powder. Believe it or not, that's actually not going to poison you. However, I wouldn't recommend eating it because it's not the meat of a Hive. Like crabs in real life, you eat what's protected by the armor, not the armor itself. Vex Milk Do I even have to explain why this is bad? Do I have to remind you of Kabr, the Titan who drank that shit and was promptly converted from the inside into a Vex unit? He's still a Vex, by the way, just thought you should know so you don't get surprised if we see him again. Do you want to have your blood replaced with Radiolaria and your organs reworked into wires and tubes? Your skin and bone structure reworked into a metal frame and chassis? Just a reminder that Vex chassis are made with a copper or bronze-like metal, and it's likely that the Radiolarian fluid will use those metals found in your blood to armor you up. Taken Butter The inspiration behind this waste of a post. What the -blam!- even is Taken Butter? We could take this literally or... less literally, and the latter more or less depends on what the Taken themselves are covered in. What gives a Taken their color? Are they supernaturally colored or are they smeared in Blight? If the latter, then I guess people are going around with spoons to scrape that shit off. Not only is that a little disgusting, but as previously mentioned, Blight will kill you. But what if that's not the case? Well then what the hell is it? Are we making butter with Taken ingredients? Who's getting the Taken milk? HOW does one get the Taken milk? I doubt a Wizard's going to let you. Seriously what the -blam!- is this thing?>
