With a third variant of the Offtopic Card Game, comes a third variant of it's most core, baseline set, the Industry set! Let's take a look at a few of the planned cards;

Gate Card: Coal Plant
At the start of every turn, you gain 100 energy. You may cast any spell card with an energy cost greater than 200 at any time. Creatures and Relics you summon enter play with bonus Shield equal to half the energy you spent to play them.
-2 to hand limit, -1000 Maximum Health, +500 Player Shield, Tier 1
Intended to be the baseline Industry Gate Card, this card establishes the value of Energy when compared to other resources. It also has the unique aspect of granting sufficiently powerful Industry Spell Cards the Interrupt mechanic for free!

Creature: Factory Worker
Cost: 200 Energy
100 Attack, 100 Health, 200 Shields
When Factory Worker enters the battlefield, it gains +100 Attack for each Robot Creature you control.
Like the Ninja or the Clone Trooper were the baseline creatures in the first and second versions of the Offtopic Card Game, the Factory Worker is intended to be the most run of the mill, average creature available to the Industry set. Not to strong, but not to cheap either.

Spell: Overcharge
Cost: X energy
Target creature you control gains +X attack until the end of the turn
Overcharge was previously underpowered, but we hope that this new and improved version can find good use in Industry Decks to bolster creatures. This card was selected to be part of the Industry set specifically to help solidify Industry as the set with big attackers and big hits, while being more susceptible to damage itself.

Spell: Taskmaster Assignment
Cost: 300 Energy
Summon three Taskmaster creatures with 100 attack, 50 health, and 100 shield and “When this creature leaves the battlefield, all other Industry creatures you control gain 50 base shield”
Summoning many weak creatures is a new aspect that will be added to Industry in the third version, previously mostly reserved for the Artemis set. The philosophy here is, when swarms of creatures are combined with cards that boost the attack of all creatures, the results are devastating damage, which is right in line with the philosophy of the Industry set.

Creature: Toaster+Mech
Cost: 1000 Energy
X Attack, 700 Health, 300 Shields
At any time except during combat, you may discard any number of cards you wish. Toaster+Mech then gains 1000 attack until the end of the turn for each card you discarded this way.
At the start of each of your opponent’s turns, you must draw one card and reveal it, then check for maximum hand-size.
And what would the Offtopic Card Game be without including the icons of offtopic. Toaster has historically topped the power charts for RP characters, and we did our best to represent this here in as balanced and fair way possible. This card represents one of the only cards with the potential for literally unlimited attack by itself, but it comes at a hefty cost. Experience players will however note that this card is more powerful due to it's ability to double the amount of cards you draw, as opposed to it's raw strength alone.

Spell: Establish Disparity
Cost: Discard 2 Cards
You gain 200 energy
Any person who played with this card in version 1.0 can tell you: Establish Disparity was by far the most powerful card in the game, and we believe it retains some of that potential, but at a much heftier cost. Trading in a cost of 300 health for discarding 2 cards, Establish Disparity now more effectively achieves what it's goals were upon it's initial inception: Enhance your board presence while sacrificing a vital resource in the process. We are certain that this card will see play in almost every Industry deck.
1 AntwortenLove it, btw did you ever figure out how to make the game easier to play? If I remember v1 correctly we ended up having to use an online standard card deck and assign each card a value.

Interesting, very interesting.

I never knew there was a card game, but I'm glad to be a part of it.
