Bringing the damage-per-bolt in line with the archetype to prevent it from being an outlier but also increase PvE damage so that it remains a cut above? Sounds great, not sure why you're so emotional.

    This will ruin it in PvE. What they are doing to Telesto is simply this: rebalancing how much of the damage comes from the initial hit, and how much comes from the delayed explosion. Right now, the vast majority of Telesto's damage comes from the delayed explosion. This explosion is not affected by damage fallout and it is AoE. That's what makes it so damn good in PvE. The rebalancing will shift damage from the delayed explosion into the initial hit, so it will behave closer to a regular fusion rifle. It's entirely possible that the close range, single target damage of Telesto in PvE will be just as good after the nerf. But what makes Telesto special is its versatility: it's massive range advantage over full auto shotguns and its add control ability. Both of those things are being nerfed.....all because a gun (an EXOTIC gun) is ranked #30 in crucible kills. Not a typo. Number thirty. Yet here we are.

    That's not what they said at all. They just said they were adjusting the damage it dealt per volley so that its PvP damage is in-line with other fusions of the same charge-rate archetype, meaning it will probably end up needing 5 bolts for a kill instead of 4. I think you're jumping the gun if you believe they are going to completely alter the dynamic of how the weapon functions just to tone down a number.     They obviously aren't eliminating the delayed explosive part of the damage, that's still going to be there yes. They are simply shifting some of the damage out of the delayed explosion and into the initial burst. It's similar to how they nerfed weapons with Explosive Payload. They buffed the base damage to compensate for the reduced explosion damage, not the net result was a clear and obvious nerf.

  • No, it's getting nerfed in PvE. The initial burst is being buffed to try to compensate for the reduced explosion damage, but this is a net nerf because the explosion damage (no damage falloff, strong AoE damage) is what makes Telesto what of is. Nobody cares that it currently does less damage on its initial burst than normal fusion rifles of its archetype.

  • I read that yea fact is though they need to leave shït alone, I personally hate Luna howl burns me every time I get killed by one but they worked for that gun it’s difficult to get so it should be good. Same with exotics they are hard to get they should be good

  • Telesto is not hard to get. It is not tied to any quests, meaning it drops at random. That being said, the changes planned for the fusion sound like they will let the weapon retain its value though. The bolts will still act as mines, they will still have radial damage and it will still be a special weapon. Making it require 5 bolts to kill instead of 4 isn't going to break the weapon.

  • That is a problem players can associate with the game as a whole, not to the weapon specifically "Telesto" which being a random drop has no dependency on anything challenging.
