Normally I'd say yes to this, however hunter would have a huge advsntage in this. They have a dodge to where if they dodge near and enemy they get there melee back. Now combined that with bottom tree arcstrider where sprinting rapidly recharged dodge ability and boom, toxic hunter I crucible.

I think he means one hit at all times not just when your ability is charged. If it were tied to the melee charge, exotics that give extra would be used by almost everyone so it makes more sense for them to outright punch and kill. Also the gamblers dodge is supposed to be used at close range to get the melee back. It’s a gamble. Yes you could die but you could also kill him during his roll.

I understand where you are coming from however , If you melee a titan as a hunter and you immediately roll back. The roll is automatically tracked The titan and or warlock will have there turn to punch you back . Yes you get your melee back but now your dead. What was the point ?

If you miss your punch, that's your fault (hence the gamble) and they have the chance to punch you. If the punch is one hit and you land it on your foe, he's going to die, but if you miss, you are most likely going to die. What the other commentator was trying to say was that a hunter could roll towards you and get his melee, if he didn't have it, giving him his OHK ability. I said and hoped the originally poster meant that all melees regardless of a charge are OHK's. The hunter's melee charges don't deplete (unless they are throwable) so missing your melee and then dodging won't do anything. It wouldn't really do anything f you killed the opponent and then dodged unless there are multiple enemies in close quarters. I see what you mean, or at least, what you thought I meant.

I think it's fair game to say that I am very experienced with my hunter I think my skill level is Expressed through my stats. I Rarely miss a punch if ever . In the current meta two punches is insanely long for the time to kill considering that you can shotgun a guy and get hosed down by an autorifle behind you before you can react to a person behind you. I used my melee's selectively . I personally cannot think of a time I dont have my melee But this comes down to the fact that our abilities do no damage at all... a smoke doesnt last for more than two seconds . I dont agree with nerfs at all however at the least hunter punches shouldnt still be at destiny 2 vanilla. Thats insinuating that everything was perfect since launch... We all know the truth .

This is why I wouldn't want them to tie it to melee charges. There are exotics and abilities that give extra/regen your melees pretty quickly: skullfort, ophidia, karnstein, playing with fire, etc. But I also admit that having a general OHK melee at all times could be pretty annoying. Especially if your melees were medium ranged: ball of lightning, knife trick, other knifes, chain lightning.
