Haunted Forrest should stay as corrupted forest idea for daily and weekly completion things
Nightmares renamed corrupted proxy's and take the dark stuff away and keep amanda as the vendor add a corrupted kind of weapon set and tokens instead of souls and idk about the masks

Make gambit the occasion event and then the real Forrest gets to stay. I want to know what a Xmas Forrest looks like

I would be fine with this, but would prefer it to be something where each gate is guarded by daemons and the 5th one is a boss. You keep going and it just gets harder and harder. No time limit. No power requirement beyond having to be 500 and the thing is set to 10 above the average power of your fireteam. All three die, run is over.

I love the Haunted Forest! The visual atmosphere is incredible, and the pace racing through the branches is just right! Add in the spook factor of looking for that straggling enemy only to find it's the invincible knight that's hunting YOU down, you have a wonderful activity on your hands! I'm surprised they didn't have this kind of thing going back in CoO, or maybe Bungie thought it was too fun to have at the time. :P

Don’t know about having Amanda as the vendor, I see her more as a vendor for the special events and SRL (hear me Bungie? Bring it back! Permanently!) but I do agree with a variant of it staying. Maybe make Ikora the vendor for a standard version, she’s under-utilised at the moment.

3 AntwortenAgreed, it's great to have the Infinite Forest used for something. There was so much hope for what it could have been when the Osiris DLC dropped, only for many Guardians to be left wanting more out of it. I hope they keep it in use moving forward, and the OP's idea for keeping the horde mode as a daily or weekly would be awesome.

I've only played through it once so far as I find the whole FOTL a bit stupid, but...it wasn't too bad. It was leaps and bounds better than the infinite forest dud. I just wish there were some actual scary tress and owls thrown in there.

Another possibility would be giving the Dawning and Crimson Days their own modified versions of the Forest. Right now it's dark and scary. But since it's infinite, it could provide a very wide variety of activities and environments. And it might give Osiris and Sagira reason to return, they're the only human'Ghost team that has two well-developed characters.

What if this is the way we are dismantling the Infinite fortress, by corrupting it to the point where we can destroy its foundational minds?

I enjoy the time trials. Can we please keep some version of the haunted forest? This is what the infinite forest should be.

2 AntwortenDefinitely. I wouldn’t even care if they botched the lore and it didn’t make sense. Hell, they could simply say that Osiris figured out a way to use the simulations as training for guardians, similar to how Shaxx uses the crucible. Double Hell, I wouldn’t even care if they brought back year 2 versions of the Forge weapons as rewards, as long as they add a fusion rifle, linear fusion, rocket launcher, LMG, and a bow that are of the same vexy theme. Anyway, great idea.

While we’re at it, keep Vance as the base Mercury vendor, but to get the good stuff from the “corrupted Forrest” you have to find Osiris in the actual Forrest. Kinda like a combination of Xur and Petra’s moving around.

25 AntwortenOr just use its name as the Infinite Forest with the change that it's a never-ending dungeon experience with a boss/special encounter/challenge after you've cleared a certain number of floors. Have them spawn a special mini-boss that you kill for a buff to go with the debuffs you get along the way. The Vendor would be Osiris with the prophecy verse weapons now having randomly rolled perks, and three unique weapons each week for sale after you've collected enough "simulation data." Infinite Forest bounties would grant more of this data and legendary gear with the weekly bounty granting powerful gear. I feel like an exotic weapon should be included in here, but I wouldn't know which one.

I wouldn’t be surprised if the other events coming up were based around the infinite forest too. With as you say different enemies/ weapons / shaders / lighting effects etc to mix it up a little each time. Siva would work well wouldn’t it?

They should either add new armor sets to the loot pool from the activity, or give Amanda an armor set from tokens if they keep it

No one enjoyed the boring ass infinite forrest, maybe come up with a new idea instead of trying to bring back recycled crap...
