I’m a huge Bioware fan, but with EA running the show, I expect Anthem to be similar to Destiny. The one thing that it may have over Destiny is that, it being Bioware, means that they do want to tell more involved and personal stories. It sounds like there will be no activities that require other players, but time will tell. If there is, any hype I have will dissolve immediately. I don’t like the gameplay model where like 98% of the game can be soloed or has an auto player finding system, but then the few activities required to fully level or get the best gear suddenly can’t be soloed and don’t have any kind of matchmaking. It’s inconsistent and honestly just annoying. I’m hoping Anthem won’t fall victim to that like this game did. I know it’s easier to monetize games after launch if they require online aspects, so I’m not getting excited for Anthem because I bet it’ll be more of the same.
Me: plays games to relax and escape life and dealing with people
Developers: here’s multiplayer! Now with extra people!

There are plenty of singleplayer games you can play that are already out

There are a few that I’m looking forward to, but none are out yet. I’ve exhausted my favorites. Which is why I’m back with Destiny for the time being. Great universe and story. Awkward and impractical gameplay mode for stories. I like it, but can also see so much missed potential.

I can think of 10-15 great SP games off the top of my head. what system are you on?

I used to have access to most games for free so I’ve played a lot of what I was curious about. As of now I’ve played what interests me and I’m not looking to spend money on a gamble of something I’m unfamiliar with at the moment. Which is why I waited until D2 was on sale. I’m basically just waiting for Red Dead 2 and Cyberpunk.

One of the main reasons Destiny 2 is terrible, is the developers fascination around trying to make everything balanced for PVP. Anthem isn't going to have PVP, so it is going to be near impossible for Bioware/EA to make a worse game than this.
-
Lack of PvP could be off-putting though. I hope Anthem is great btw. It looks superb. Just a shame about 3rd person, and no PvP. Reckon I'll still play it.

You must not have played Andromeda then. That game was laugh out loud caliber.

I did play Andromeda. Twice in a row at launch. Really enjoyed it. Barely touched the multiplayer though. Not bad, but I had already gotten my fill with it in Mass Effect 3. The multiplayer was the same as that.

I just want more lore and story in general. There is a lot of squandered potential in Destiny. I like it, but it’s so rigid and inconsistent at times. Anthem looks interesting, but he Destiny universe seems more like my type of thing as far as story goes. Time will tell I guess.
