Destiny 2 is the wrong game made for the wrong audience. Also (no disrespect intended) you're an infrequent player----which means you probably have real world responsibilities to attend to----so you're less likely to see the problems that are riling people up. To make a long story short, Bungie tried to re-brand the game. Destiny 1 was a game that played mainly like a loot-based, Action-RPG. Which means an end-game that is all about grinding for POWER. More powerful weapons, more powerful armor. Better, more efficient builds. So that you can turn your Guardian into the most powerful version of itself...and have fun shit-stomping the game until the next content drop. The problem is that the shared gear system made PVP impossible to balance. So in an effort to improve PVP (and I think position Destiny 2 for possible e-sports) Bungie redesigned Destiny 2 to play more like a conventional shooter. The player abilities were stripped down and dramatically simplified. The weapon system was completely redesigned so that we had less access to high burst-damge weapons. Most of the perks on weaons and armor were removed from the game...those that remained were either nerfed into the ground...or made into exotics to further restrict our access. So it wound up doing two that KNEE-CAPPED the experience of the hard-core, daily player. 1. It made our Guardians DRAMATICALLY less powerful. 2. It destroyed the end-game power-grind that is essential to any good loot-based RPG. Leaving behind only a grind for cosmetic items. If you are a less-frequent player you don't see this. Because the new weapon system only shows its problems when you're playing the most difficult content. Raids, Prestiege Nightfalls, etc....where the nerfing to our ability to do damage is so obvious. The hole in the game that the absence of a eng-game power-grind leaves is also hard to see if you're not playing in a hardcore fashion and doing the more difficult content. None fo the raid armor or Trials armor has any beneficial perks....and none of the raid or trials weapons are any better than equivalents you can find in the open world. TLDR: Imagine going to the store and thinking your buying Borderlands 2.....and you get handed Halo 3 instead. So naturally the PVE community----who are mainly RPG gamers----are HOPPPING mad.

Go play some D1 and tell me D2 is better in any way.

No real reason to play. - The move to 4v4 in PvP in order to find a way into eSports was stupid. D2 will never be an Overwatch, nor do we want it to be. - MTX's in a $60 retail game is a slap in the face to your consumer base, regardless of what those MTX's are. See EA. - A lack of actual customization hurts this game. Subclasses should not be reduced down to 1 of two loadouts. - 2 primaries sucks. - The campaign was pretty shit. It was just a half-step above D1 because there was an actual protagonist. Still had awful writing, awful dialogue, awful pacing, etc etc. - They took away all of our D1 exotics and gear, claimed they were "starting fresh", and then basically made us buy our D1 exotics again. What the hell? - The lack of activity options is bullshit. - The rewards system is lackluster. - The PL system is pointless. - D2 Vanilla was D1 Vanilla, but with less things to do - they actually regressed from a point in 2014! - They spent 3 years making D1 into a good game, and then removed everything that made it fun to play for D2. It’s not a great game at all bro. You’re being too simpleminded and uncritical. This game is all looks and no soul. They can’t even make a decent a.i. , you can basically run past all the enemies. Everything about it is a set back compared to d1, from the lore, weak story, less speed , less power, less customization, ineffective exotics, perks, etc. The expansion is basically crap, Osiris is supposed to be the most powerful of all guardians, we talk to him for like 12 seconds. We never get to feel or play side by side with him. We can’t even get a exotic weapon from him. Total fail.

Because this is a bad [b]Destiny[/b] game. Its just another multiplayer shooter that regressed instead of built upon its predecessor. For those that enjoy D2 thats fine, but those that enjoyed D1 do not enjoy D2 because Bungie honestly ignored their fans.

Destiny 2 is shit, dude. You move slower, abilities recharge insanely slow, armor doesn't give any kind of bonuses anymore, getting the same 10 guns gets boring quick as hell, and you use the same ten guns for everything cause some are clearly better than others AND because you can change the element so you can just switch the mods out, so why use different guns. The same five modifiers make strikes boring and lack variety, whole game is bare bones and lacking any depth, rewards suck, tokens suck, you "power" level means nothing and you never feel any sense of progression because everything scales to you. "Oh but you can fast travel now" gtfoh public events are the endgame now? This game was made for people who hated Destiny 1. Bungie is stupid af for alienating the people who kept D1 alive with this trash.

Destiny 2 is a micro-transaction delivery system. It is garbage.

Most people that don't like the current state of D2 are veteran D1 players that have put in hours into this game. But if this is the your very first experience with Destiny, to you D2 is a great game.
