Quickfang - Actually a legitimate question to Bungie.. If you do ever see this..
So, I love New Monarchy, and I bloody love my Quickfang, but last night I noticed something that made me sad, why can’t I add a Shader to my Sword? I’ve never had an issue in the past with Shaders and Legendaries, even the Raid Gear, which kinda should be locked to the default colours, but that’s another topic.
Is there a reason for this? Could you add it? I mean.. My birthday is coming up in a month.. No pressure or anything..
And yes, this thread is because I wanna have a red and gold sword with my New Monarchy Hunter for one sexy monster of battle! :D
So if there is a reason why Shader can’t be added (I don’t know about other swords, they never drop for me), can you let us know? If it’s a Lore reason then hell yeah, I’m already on board, if not tho, I think it would be awesome if you added it, cause the Quickfang is beautiful with a Hunter, and it deserves to be as shiny as my armour! :D

I agree. You should be able to color any weapon, even swords. I would love to run around with a blood red blade.

1 Antwortenunrelated but quickfang is the best damn sword in this game the ability to have infinite ammo on your r2 attack (raid sword) and being able to run like an anime character are two completely incomparable traits. quickfang is just better. 10/10 would delete my hunter and remake it to get quickfang again

I'm kinda in agreement with the no shader camp. Quickfang in my opinion is to sleek to really pull a decent shader off. The best I could see with the others is something like indigo matrix or Omolon Silver meteor. Because they have that oiled effect that goes great on metal. But otherwise I don't think it would pan out so well.

9 AntwortenI think it's a design choice, they don't want people running around with crayon color blades. So rather than only allowing the hilt and grips colour to be changed and have people rage about it on the forums they just completely skipped it entirely.

Which I would hate it if we could. The reason I say I hate the idea because the color pallet wouldn't match what your hoping for with adding a shader to a sword. That's why it hasn't been done yet.

I did find it somewhat strange myself that swords are the only weapon type that can't accept shaders.
