Now I know I'm about to sound like the typical hunter that complains about everything, but hear me out.
I think that the hunter dodge ability needs to have a a shorter cooldown that matches or is lower than the warlock's Icarus dash cooldown. Now I realize there are going to be perks that allows you to decrease this cooldown time that have already been mentioned, but I shouldn't have to use that perk just to match that of the warlock cooldown. That makes no sense.
Also I realize that this will mean that hunters will be even more evasive and harder to kill in pvp. This does not bother me much because you can easily still be damaged and shot pretty easily while doing this dodge versus in D1 where it cancels the enemies aim assist. This would allow hunters to maintain an endless flow of dps when using marksman dodge seeing as the decreased cooldown timer would be done before or around the same time you run out of ammo.
The main complaint about the hunter is that they have less team play then the other 2 classes. I wouldn't want bungie to change anything about the other 2 classes just to compensate for their lack of input into the hunters class ability, just simply buff the hunter ever so slightly. This would make the hunter stand out even more as the lone wolf because of their ability to have high and constant dps with either dodge equipped according to your preferred play style.
What do you guys think?
Edit 1: what if hunters have the ability to drop more orbs than the other classes promoting the lone wolf/ leader of the pack mentality
Edit 2: I feel like a lot of people are forgetting that in D1 hunters didn't have a team play role in raids besides doing high dps or killing high value targets in quick succession. Besides that the only other utility they had was getting revives or staying alive by being invisible, UNTIL THE NIGHTSTALKER CAME. So for all the people asking for more team oriented buffs for the hunter or saying that they will be useless in the raid seem to be ignoring the fact that hunters were made to be the lone wolf dps player, going off away from the group at times setting their own path. So what titans can make a barrier, the hunter can still use the barriers perks right? And the same goes for the warlock's rift. Then run off and do his/her own thing when it's over or time to abort.
Just put it like this, once the titan's or the warlock's class abilities are on cooldown who has the ability to deal more damage consistently.... hunters, but only if they are skilled in using their abilities and staying alive. And even when the other classes use their abilities, the hunter can receive the same buffs and use them as well.
I'm not trying to make hunters seem better than the other classes, but they have their moments just like the other classes do if used correctly.
Edit 4: apparently our wishes have come true and hunters are going to be orb machines

How about the dodge is on a 10 second timer like warlocks and make it break tracking and aim assist. The reload or melee refresh still recharges on the normal timer. That way we can dodge more but not get the perks that would unbalance it.

6 AntwortenStrange... most hunters I know just go with the flow and don't really care while still looking fabulous in our awesome capes 😇

5 AntwortenThe dodge sucks. Worst of the 3. Hunter is the worst of the 3. Join the titans.

More orbs for the team is really good. I did notice that the arcstrider did create alot of orbs. I used it mainly for dealing with adds.. and only on the boss when there were no more adds and the health was low. Iv always liked making orbs for my team, so Im on board with the more orbs idea.

1 AntwortenAt least you admitted to sounding like a typical hunter so I can't hate

4 AntwortenYay orb idea is taking off

6 AntwortenIts longer cd is because it reloads your guns... and warlocks does not xD that short of a cd with insta reload would be to powerful... I mean does anyone read tooltips anymore gdi xD

3 AntwortenBearbeitet von Perrinoid_: 8/10/2017 2:55:46 AMI don't understand the hunter mentality of less team play. Whenever I see a hunter they are flying solo. They have skills that benefit the team because they can move in for the quick kill and give the rest of the team time to swoop in, mop up, and protect the hunter. If you're playing hunter you gotta pick the battle with more caution because you have the best chance to get the first bead.

1 AntwortenI still like the notion of smoke better. It just fits with the "support" theme, but it's still hunter-y.

5 AntwortenBearbeitet von DuBChiri2: 8/10/2017 2:09:33 AMGamblers dodge: dodging when near the enemy starts health regen for you and increases recovery of your nearby allies. (User as well, still recharges melee also) Marksman dodge: dodging reloads your weapons instantly, nearby allies get increased handling and reload (user as well) Add about 8 seconds to the recharge timer to keep balance (I believe it would be 24 seconds now?) I will always main a Titan but I try not to be biased. Although the Titans rally shield is a bit too susceptible to splash damage and the warlocks rift only supports 2 other people comfortable. Every class has it's problems despite all the upsides

2 AntwortenHere's the problem. The current move isn't really useful in PVE, it needs a ( much ) shorter cool down in order to become useful. However, if they shorten the cool down too much then it could make Hunters extremely dominant in PVP ( where Hunters already a mobility advantage over the other classes ) since it will make them very hard to hit and kill with the current state of TTK. Don't get me wrong, I think Bungie should buff the Hunter class ability in some way, I just don't think Bungie has any interest in shortening it's cool down. By the way, I'm a PVE gamer, I don't do PVP.

On the skill tree rather than health regeneration after a kill get a shield, that's the best solution then shadestep becomes relevant as your melee is charged after you have stepped away
-
The hunters marksman dodge should give a short damage boost too and all doges should provide high damage resistance or invulnerability during the dodge with the length of the dodges being increased.
-
Instant reload for the whole fire team would be useful instead of just the individual hunter. Imagine the dps on a boss encounter.

1 AntwortenI agree that it's definitely the worse of the 3. I would like to see some sort of ability to help the team. But if not I think it would only be fair for the dodge to not have hardly to any cool down if that's what we have to keep...i mean it's such a bad dodge that it literly helps you evade nothing at all in PvP. And if we're going to be the only class that can't help out in pve. The least they can do is make be the quickest reuse ability

1 AntwortenTitans have the option of a low or high barricade. Warlocks have the option of health or damage buff. Hunters can only dodge. Maybe give hunters the option of dodge if alone or vanish in smoke for the team.
-
4 AntwortenI love the dodge roll ability, but I think it should be implemented as a regular ability we can spec into, and have a totally different class ability that benefits the hunter and the team for both PVE, and PVP. This actual ability is so retarded. Titans have a shield to protect the team, warlocks can heal! If they do choose to keep the dodge roll as the class ability then it should either heal or buff all allies around the hunter. Maybe I was hoping for some kind of trap you could place, either for a DoT or a snare. The Dodge just feels weak and selfish. Or the hunter should throw a smoke bomb for invisibility or cofuse the enemies in the smoke with a backflip? The other two class abilities have great team utility the Hunter? Not at all. I predict Hunters will have a hard time finding a role in the raids.
