After 2 hours of play.
Homecoming- This mission needs a name change since it's not like we ever left the Tower to begin with, it doesn't feel like a homecoming but rather an invasion, which is what it is so please change the name. Anyway the mission isn't bad and the one issue I had was the sub boss was a sponge, we are forced to fight with just bad weapons (more on that later) that fire too fast but with a cone wide enough to fit a truck. But then the boss has almost AoE attacks while we can barely get close enough without losing 3/4 of the life bar. Besides that everything was fine.
Crucible- Now I don't find any big issue other than ending up against people with shotguns while you are left with starter weapons (this was after doing the strike). I can't say it's unbalanced but smaller groups make the current map an issue for solo players, turning a corner on your own means death as you are left facing 4 enemies on your own. I understand PVP is about teamwork, but you also need to understand not everyone has a group to play with all the time. Lastly Power Ammo needs to be back to group, I don't know why no one has complained about this but it's honestly a bad mechanic, specially with so many weapons needing the ammo now.
Strike- It really felt too long for all the wrong reasons, we're back to making content long by only adding open spaces without anything to fill them. Boss is your typical bullet sponge, and with adds coming up every 30 seconds you spend more time running around wasting bullets on them than actually dealing with the boss. I do like the changing area mechanic, but that's pretty much all he has, nothing he does it's really new or impressive.
Weapons/drops/rewards- Weapons are absolute shit in PVE, there's no other way to put it. Every single weapon did the same damage with maybe a digit or two of difference, yet with different abilities and elements. I was only able to use the Grenade Launcher which again felt like shit, and the Fusion rifle which was the only respectable weapon. Also Power ammo drops maybe once per boss or sub boss, do not expect to find any from adds. Lastly after 2 PVP matches and 3 strike runs I get the same gear and weapons I already had, the drop system is back to being the horrible RNG shit from Destiny 1.
Powers- Lastly what the hell happened to them?. Supers are weak at best, grenades are somewhat good but take too long to recharge. In PVP melee is useless and in PVE nearly the same. Honestly unless you are keeping something hidden I really don't see an advantage from having such limited trees.
As someone said above this is PVP taking over, we told you that is not what we want yet you keep pushing that mode into PVE, stop doing that and make PVE it's own system with its own balance that it's it reliant on pvp.
Oh and if this is all we're getting for the Beta, sorry but it's not worth the wait and really don't think you'll actually balance anything based on this, which means the game will come out as is which is just shit, and we'll have to wait months until something is done.

I like the power ammo thing, can be annoying if the enemy team has both but it's not like the enemy team having heavy as it is now
-
Honestly it was easier and saved ammo hititng most trash mobs then it was to shoot ANYTHING. Seemed like you were wasting ammo killing trash mobs.

Please make this a separate post or it will be buried. Excellent review of what we have seen so far

Bearbeitet von xilxad: 7/19/2017 12:04:19 PMI agree with all of this. Destiny 2 is dumb (bullet sponge boss with recurring add theme, AGAIN) and boring ( all guns do similar numbers, no ammo to be had for fusion rifle/ power weapon. The only thing good about it was the pace of PVP/control. Sad attempt, Smith.

But man...its overkill...like the Nexus remake.

There's no point in flooding the forums just to have people hate on your opinion because they still want this to be HALO, and don't understand the balance of powers to weapons are what set us apart, but that now seems gone.
-
No. Flood the forums. That's what Bungie needs to make a better game! I agree with most of what you said. I will be really bummed if big changes aren't made for PvE. At this point, D1's PvE is much better.
-
I disagree with your opinion about weapons being only for PvP. The SUNSHOT handcannon was insanely powerful in the strike and missions but in PvP it was complete trash. You might want to test out the weapons a little more.
-
It hits hard but so slow and there's no perks to really make it stand out (or any weapon for that matter, the few we got are so minimal it's easier to just leave them be). Also the Exotic isn't worth it, sure it was gifted but even so.
-
I actually enjoyed the Sunshot in PVP as you had the challenge of actually making the headshot to one-shot kill someone, rather than spray-and-pray one-shot killing with certain guns in D1. And I found pulse rifles rather useless compared to everyone else. I was killed by a lot of hand cannons and shot guns. Very little to no pulse rifles.

They were long but there was things to do. This was one of my biggest concerns besides the over nerfing that is yet to come. I'm more concerned about the planet's/ moons now.

This is a Beta, so suggestions for fixes are up for grabs. Why not compel them to make specific Strike areas...skippable if no longer desiring to do the STORY aspect of it one million times?

Quota for play time is what this game has become. I know Activision plays their role in this but how this game is being created is not what this game started out to be. Everyone has their opinion just for me this game has come to an end. This company is lost and by signing a contract with Activision is what caused this game to head the way it did. Some may like it and some wont. I just don't see spending 3000 hours on a game and have nothing to show for it

BUMP!! I do feel a cancelation of my pre order coming.
-
Major bump!
-
i agree with just about everything man, and it is the beta, all companies change balancing and stuff after beta. thats what its intended for, as much as it is lacking i am still slightly hopeful that they will get it right in three months
-
I agree with almost everything. Only exception being power ammo in PvP: It only dropping for one person is a very good mechanic and let's you strategize around the ammo spots as well as the actual objectives.
-
I agree with Vorpal below: your response should be a stand-alone post.

You hit the nail on the head with everything you said. Great post.

dude, start a new post with this. You go into good detail with stuff. They're more likely to see as OP than comment.
