I've read an interview with L.Smith in which he talked about the death penalty in Hard Raids, what I understood is that the lads in Bungie are going to remove the "no revive" death penalty from the hard raid and replace it with something else.
while they didn't explain whats the new system, but they did explain that the change comes after they felt like having one member of the fireteam sitting there watching and doing nothing is not "fun" ..
they also want to narrow the gap between the skilled ones and the less skilled ones so the new "guided games system" would work better.
let me just say right now, that this is a horrible idea.
making the raids easier will ruin the experience and make its life span even shorter.
please stop listening to the cry baby noobs who are too lazy to understand and follow simple instructions in the raid and instead wants it to be easier so they can feel better about themself ??
this reminds me of the change you made to the nightfall (team wipe return to orbit). it was so challenging and fun with that old system, once you changed it to cater for the noobs among us I lost interest in it.
it became nothing different than a normal strike ..
there is stuff that isn't broken in Destiny, please don't attempt to fix it.
the crucible is infested with balance issues and problems, it is broken so I can understand your constant attempts to fix it, but the old Nightfall system and the Raids are fine apart from few bugs here and there, please don't push changes that makes the game less challenging .. that right there is what going to make it NOT FUN !!!

1 AntwortenDid you even listen to the interview? He actually says that he still wants the raids to be challenging and difficult, you have selective hearing.
-
I fail to see how this affects you personally
-
I also agree that Bungie needs to constantly stop catering to new and beginner players because sure they want to expand their fan base but it removes challenge from the game. Plus once the noobs git gud at the game they will also complain about how easy the game is and it's a never ending cycle until new players stop coming.

9 AntwortenBearbeitet von GrundleBeans: 6/16/2017 6:36:39 PMIt is not a horrible change and it was never a good system to begin with. The current raid death penalty is basically if anyone dies, you all have to die and start over. That's not a good system. Saying it wasn't broke so don't fix it is completely invalid.

No revives is a lazy, uncreative way of adding difficulty.

Bearbeitet von Samantha: 6/14/2017 11:49:00 PMTop management goes: "Oh, well we think it isn't fun for somebody who died to watch his/her team try to 5-man. We also still hold to our belief that health regen perks are really annoying!" And this focus group intern walks up: "Sir, the numbers say that we are talking out of our ass."
-
I would agree with this, don't make it easier. It will wear out the content faster, but this new thing they are imlementing might be better (which I doubt).
-
Let's see what it is first, then we can applaud/berate Bungie's decision. Maybe it's something that makes revives possible, but not without some kind of sacrifice. Like trading a super for a revive, or taking on a debuff. That would make it possible but not necessarily the best thing to do for that encounter.

I think it will be fine, just remember you won't be able to run a rocket/sword and a sniper. But they can make things a little harder as in mechanics and allow limited deaths. I would say they might bring in the revive tokens. So if you want to pick someone up you have to think about is it worth picking up that player and that means that only 6 revives would be available. They could go one step further and make it 6 revive tokens for the entire raid, use them up then you'll have to wipe to be revived. The revive changes to raids could be good as it will allow seasoned raiders to help out others without worrying to much about someone dying right near the end of an encounter. Not everyone is as good as most of us raiders. The amount of post on the forums for raids is starting to get ridiculous, I got denied into WOTM the other night because they looked up my psn stats and was denied so I looked up theirs and found that across both Xbox and PS4 I had more raid completions than 5 of them put together so I messaged the guy to say what a mistake he made an continued to complete 3 in the time it took them to do one. If this system works as well as they think it will, then it would help those to get into raids and potentially complete them. ( more people complete then the more people are happy). FYI around 20% of players have completed WOTM on heroic.

Bearbeitet von Synge_X: 6/15/2017 4:45:30 PMFirst thing I thought was thank god... I've done a lot of raids, and after my first two clans disbanded, I was forced to seek out groups on LFG. I can testify that at least one out of six players that you get into your group will die repeatedly and never learn from his or her mistakes. AND BE DAMNED IF YOU SAY ANYTHING. Even if you try to coach someone in the most calm manner, the sensibilities of people these days will ignite into a clash of egos. It's pathetic really, people spending hours wiping repeatedly, when a solution is obvious. I wish that raids were even more challenging, but alas, the community isn't up to the challenge as a whole, and it's not just skill, it's not being afraid to confront a problem and solve it. I've given up raiding unless it is understood that I Sherpa, which I'm rarely in the mood for.

Wow Calm down snowflake No need to go on a text rampage Probably just a modifier of which I would like to see more of in raids

4 AntwortenBearbeitet von Merkd: 6/14/2017 2:32:50 PMI completely agree. You can check my stats and see I am in no way an avid raider. Maybe 10/20 completions in total, that's not due to my skill level; its due to the fact I played solo as friends were in to different games. When I did get round to raiding, it was the most exciting & rewarding times I've experienced in my gaming career. Meeting new people, learning new things and coming together with 5 random people to complete a task together had this unique feeling to it. I've never had that feeling from anything since. The death penalty played a huge part in this, it made me a better and smarter raider. It made warlocks who rely on their self-revive play smarter too (not all warlocks are the same lol) but what I'm trying to say is it was something you feared. Hearing that awful "Gaurdian down" mid-way through the warpriest or Templar and you start to panick "left side good?" "need help in middle?" I have been that guardian many times and its a horrible feeling at first, you start blaming everything but yourself. Its a learning process though, as you continue you learn to play more carefully. It's a good thing in my opinion, it keeps the raid challenging but it also challenges you individually and in the end makes you an all round better player. Removing this is a huge mistake in my opinion.

12 AntwortenI am probably going to get a lot of hate for this post, but in truth, if the raids are only going to give cosmetic gear like they have in Y2/Y3, then it totally makes sense for the raids to be easier. Nobody wants to work their asses off grinding really REALLY difficult content to get a stinkin shader or cosmetic armor and guns that are only on par with guns elsewhere. So long as raid rewards don't go back to how they were in Y1, where raids gave the BEST stuff in the game - then IMO, the raids should be easier. GOOD loot should be obtained by doing hard, challenging stuff. And the raid gear has really not justified the efforts it has taken to obtain it since TTK launched. They could have gone two ways with this one: 1) make raid gear better or 2) make raids easier. It seems like they are going to make raids easier. And this would go along with them reducing our firepower - they simply have to become easier if we can't take sufficient firepower with us. So once again, thank you PVP, and thank you PVE casual crybabies who whine that they can't get the best loot in the game because they can't raid and won't even try to put a team together who can learn how to do the raid themselves.

8 AntwortenSo wait. You LIKE waiting for the encounter to end to play again or until a team wipe? If that's why you consider fun then this game is not for you. The reason they're changing it is not because of complaints. Tell me the last time you saw someone complaining about the mechanic on these forums. They're changing because they want new players into the Destiny Franchise to enjoy their time. They don't want them to sit in a death screen for 10 to 20 minutes and not help their team. I welcome the change, because it allows for Bungie to create an actual challenge mechanic instead of permadeath.
-
10 AntwortenI want the old year 1 nightfall modifier back.
-
That's what happens when you add any form of matchmaking.
-
They might make an item to grind for like keys to get back into Archon's Forge lol

Bearbeitet von zSwabee: 6/15/2017 5:39:10 AMThe same goes for the new subclass system as well. It ain't broke, why fix it? Also, having a large skill gap is better, it allows for there to be a ladder where people can help each other climb it which builds companionship. Now you have everyone squished together in an uncomfortable spot where no one gets recognition for their skill, and bad players don't have to get better. Improvement is fun, forcing people to have less of a challenge because others aren't cut out for it isn't.

https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/228116153/0/0 That's not all he is saying
-
Thank god you don't work there. You, and bungie? Pffft
-
Um... Try it, then judge it? You don't know what the replacement is. You're assuming the raid will be exactly like they are in Destiny. At least try it before you decide you hate it. Imagine if you thought chocolate looked like poo and decided to hate it before you tried it. All those poo bunnies that would have gone uneaten.
-
2 AntwortenI agree. This is a pretty stupid move. Just more dumbing down of the game to accommodate the thumbless.
-
Instead of permanent death: When you die, you lose 5% of your stats. This effect can stack up to 6x for a maximum of -30% to all of your stats. You work off the negative effects by gaining XP. Kind of sucks if you die too much...losing 5% ain't bad, but 10%? 15%? Imagine wiping in a boss fight...next thing you know, your toon is fat as -blam!- -30% to speed, health, armor...everything. Buahahahahahahahahahahahahabababababahaahahhahaahahahahahhahahahahahahhahahahahahaha crank that difficulty up
-
They should have taken that advice exactly four months ago, when they "fixed" the Crucible.

Bearbeitet von blade329: 6/14/2017 10:26:36 PMWhat does it matter when the rewards aren't that great? I did my first raid a few months ago. Crota on challenge mode. I got quite a bit of loot. It sure looked cool, but none of it was any better than what I already had. Its unique perks would only come into play if I did Crota again or when I go against Hive Majors.. None of it was usefull at all in PvP. The whole thing left me feeling rather "meh". This whole balance crapfest, spurred by PvP mega warriors, have hurt the game by watering down the gear. That's what happens when you let the competitive players dictate the meta.
