So I played with a couple of inactives last night in a level 28 PoE, when they did play they'd die straight away.
I was only playing it for some quick motes to max my Grasp.
When I got to the trophy room they were meleeing me and being absolute dicks so I felt so damn disheartened that these people existed.
But when I approached the 3 chests, opened right, motes, opened left, strange coins.
And when I opened the last chest and got a Y1 Icebreaker I felt such weird feels, if that was Year 1 I would have shouted the roof down just because of how rare it used to be to get exotics that felt exotic.
3oC ruined the process of getting exotics in multiple ways, it meant that bungie could pin another way on grinding so your RNG was doubled. But they also gave no bosses or chests that would feel like you'd be surprised to get an exotic.
When you killed Atheon and saw the drops, you'd feel like you'd accomplished something. But with this new Raid ending of them standing in a death position for the money shot, there lacks a sense of surprise in the win. When you dropped Atheon and Crota you felt such accomplishment because it wasn't just a timed death if you didn't succeed, rather "OK LETS GO AGAIN".
I hope they learn from TTK and ROI in terms of the raid bosses, the whole "oh look the boss is now on this side" "Oh look he is now in the back, prepare to fire" just didn't feel the same.
