How am I supposed to bladedance when everyone and their mum has a shotty?

Can bladedancers get an armor buff? Or perhaps they don't make a loud sound to alert everyone in the map and the next crucible map over that they just went blade dancer, so getting closer to the enemies without alerting them is possible? Considering everyone packs a shotty and all it takes is shotgun+melee combo to kill a blade dancer in ONE v ONE without assistance, I think blade dancers need SOME kind of tweak EDIT: ------------------------------- FAQ/Statements I've observed on this thread: Q: A shotgun + melee combo can take out other supers too, why should blade dancers get tweaked/buffed? A: Because other supers don't require immediate proximity to be useful. A golden gun will die just as easily to shotgun + Melee combo, but unlike the Blade dancers, a golden gun has no need to get close enough to be within shotgun range Q: They don't need an armor buff A: No but they need some form of tweaking to be as viable as other supers. It's ridiculous that a super that has absolutely no range should be at more of a risk of dying at close quarters combat than at a distance. Once the blade dancer has closed the distance between them and their opponents, they should be at home there, not at a greater risk of dying. Q: Go invisible so they can't find you A: Yes, most blade dancers are well aware of this, but there is crux to this. Activating a blade dance makes a loud sound everyone can hear. Furthermore, even while invisible, you continue to make a sound that opponents can hear when you're getting close to them, even while invisible. Which leaves you equally open to the shotgun+melee combo, whether you're invisible or not. Or for them to start running. Since the nerf, it is near impossible for a blade dancer, the subclass that prioritizes stealth and agility, to catch an opponent. Q: Why don't you spam the trigger button to make yourself harder to hit? A: I don't know how so many people don't seem to know this, but the blade dancer received a nerf a while back where spamming that drains your ability much faster now. With the addition to the agility nerf, it's quite crippling. If you spam the blade dance slashes you might be harder to hit but your ability will drain very quickly - again, I find this to be a problem. The blade dancer, which prides themselves on agility, cannot fully use their agility to their advantage. Agility and stealth, the two essential strong suits of the blade dancer that made them so deadly in close quarters combat (CQC) have both been nerfed heavily, and since then the shotguns have also become a meta which is a one-two punch to the viability of the blade dancers. Q: Razor's Edge A: Yes, this adds a bit of range, but essentializing this perk doesn't fix the problem. You shouldn't feel forced to equip a perk to make a super seem viable. Q: <Insert guardian's name here> is really good with the blade dance A: Even a twig in the hands of a master can become a deadly weapon...just watch Jackie Chan Adventures. So while this person might still be good with this ability, that does not change the fact that I noticed this flaw to the blade dance ability and choose to call it out. EDIT #2: Welp, looks like the tags are gone and I can't add them back again now either. I had hunter, bladedancer, and supers tagged prior to making the first edit.
