Let me just say the defender with this exact setup is actually op like I can't believe I rarely see this in the crucible it's that good! Ok so here is what you need- Class perks-Suppression, better control, weapons, relentless, unbreakable, untouchable. Stats- Max armor & recovery, 5 intellect, 5 strength, and 0/1/2 (if you can) discipline. Gear- Universal remote, a high impact sniper (but not forgotten, 1000 yard, longbow etc), and no backup plans. Now here's why you want to use this exact setup! -Max intellect with untouchable gets you your super in about 3 minuets. Getting kills outside of your bubble while it's popped will give you a bunch of super energy to so you can actually get it back (if you get enough kills) in 1 or 2 minuets! -Using weapons of light makes any high impact sniper a 1 shot kill ANYWHERE it hits even if it's the foot! It also adds a lot more range/ impact to the universal so you can either shut down a super in 1 shot (blade dancer for ex.) or just snipe people and wreck with it. -The no backup plans with max strength, universal remote, relentless, and unbreakable allows you to get an over shield that will last for about 25 seconds when you get either a shotgun or melee kill, the over shield will then RECHARGE like your normal shield, so if you get shot a few times and it goes down it will charge back up and will even do it even faster for as long as you have it activated! By time it's done you usually have another melee ability about ready to go, this allows you to push people easier, win gun fights way more often, and survive stupid amounts of different things like grenades etc. -Increased control for a jump lets you skate toward people really fast so you can close the gap when you are going in to shotgun them. -The grenade shuts down supers like a tether would and well, suppress, or sometimes even kills normal guardians, so if your about to push a few people with your shotgun you can stop them from jumping around and using grenades on you before hand or more importantly if someone is using a roaming super you just toss it there way and snap it's gone!! -Lastly max armor and max recovery are 2 essential things in the crucible and you get both with this set up! Now here's How you want to use this setup! When placing your bubble- >>!Do not use this like it is armor or blessing of light!<< This type of bubble should be placed sticking out of corners and mainly away from main fight areas (like b in control or the rift spawn in rift etc) but preferably right near a main sniping ally to see these conflict areas from. This allows you to easily pick people off with your one hit sniper from a safe distance and gives you plenty of time to shut down a roaming super if it's running at you. Generally use it Defensively not aggressively (lol) -If you see a titan or especially a warlock before or after you pop your super and you think they might have their super throw your grenade at then especially if it's a warlock! Every time you pop your bubble you get full grenade and melee energy so throw the grenade before you pop it just to be extra safe. Nova bombs are one of the few things that can mess your day up because of how quickly and far away they can shut your bubble down and kill you, so be careful. -this kind of goes with the other point but if a blade/hammers/ storm caller is really close to you and is charging at you throw a grenade in the bubble then jump backwards, if the grenade is off timed before he's inside it just shotgun melee him and you'll be fine. -You should stick to games like supremacy or rift where you find your self comfortable running around with the universal remote, don't forget to skate towards enemy's if they are farther away. -Try to save your sniper ammo (unless it's trials) for when you get your bubble, only take the shot if it's a guarantee head shot because trust my in 6's your going to wish you had 18 shots with the sniper when you have your bubble. -You are a tank with a shotgun, if you get a kill and get the over shield and there's a few more guys around you go kill them, don't forget you have crowd control on your universal so this is key for destroying groups and getting that tripple. -When you hear a roaming super pop don't freak out and throw your grenade to mars, use it tactically so try to predict when they are going to come around a corner or where they will be in 2 seconds if there running at you, the grenade does not stick and takes a few seconds to go off, the recharge time is high so don't mess up! -Go for extra sniper ammo on your armor pieces because you do not need it for the shotgun, also try to get faster melee Not farther grenade throw (you shouldn't be throwing them far in the first place), and definitely try to get void armor and more agility off of spawn. Guys I'm telling you give it a shot and as soon as you get the hang of everything you instantly realize how dirty this setup is! Works great in trials to, me and my buddy used the exact same set up but with the artifact that builds super when you have yours (simir?) and we just dominated.
