Confirmed on reddit by bungie, the axe will be like the swords but with less ammo capacity(will eventually be buffed when we start complaining lol) So CHEERS! I DRINK TO THAT [spoiler]#wouldbereactionsarcasm[/spoiler]

If you watch the first release stream they said it s not going to be a permanent weapon, it s something like that launcher you get as a reward in prison of elders from variks that you get to use for couple of minutes. That s what i understood from that stream but I hope I m wrong. I really like the idea of that axe in the heavy slot or something.

What he's saying is its like the Scorch Cannon. Has limited Ammo and it isn't timed like the Blades of Crota, but it disappears once it's been used up.

This doesn't necessarily mean it is a permanent weapon though...

What do you not understand about this? They have announced that it is a relic. The Scorch Cannon had ammo too, didn't mean you can keep it.
