'Locked' at 310 light :(
So this is part rant/part cry for help :)
I mainly play solo - not entirely through choice (2 small kids, my other half uses our lounge for her work in the evening so I remote play mostly & remote play = no mic), but it's what allows me to play the game the most. I've been able to take part in some Iron Banner and CoE thanks to a clan a mate of mine got me into, but they mainly focus on PVP and I'd prefer higher level PVE with the time I've got. Also, their fireteams are usually full when I get on.
I've battled my way to 310 light, but now I feel like I'm locked there without having a fireteam I can communicate with. I've yet to do a Year 2 Raid (although I'd love to), and whenever I go for the higher level PVE stuff solo (CoE etc), I just get pwned constantly.
So can anyone suggest what I can do, with the average 1 or 2 hours I get at irregular and unplannable times, to get higher level gear? Grinding strikes just nets me lots of lower gear, PoE lvl 28 is the same with added strange coins and motes & I don't always fare well in 41 PoE (matchmade partners bail a LOT & my team wipes frequently). I'm grateful for anyone that wants to add me, but be aware my attendance is always 'when I can', not 'when you're on' :)

You can get a 335 artifact from tier 3 Court of Oryx. You can get a 335 class item from Omnigul (much higher chance when nightfall). That leaves the ghost... I'd say go on destinylfg.net and find a group for CoE. It's pretty common for people to run that without a mic. You can also get a 335 class item from that.

U should be able to solo.... PoE ( Both current difficulties at some point - eventually) I say this cuz as a solo player with no mic u can get top tier drops here / on ur own...threw drops and level up packages Iron banner is a must if u wanna get drops at top tier from the events drop list ( ex : helmet n secondary ) Court of oryx / tier 3 drops top tier artifact ....these can be solo'd eventually too ( get urself a razlighter - xotic solar sword ) Play nightfall if u have limited time ....reward should be of some value but that will tapper off quickly..... There more but I gotta go atm

Focus on using three of coins and levelling up factions, both of those routes will drop items up to 5 light above your current level, just make sure you're the highest light you can be when opening the packages.

I've gotten all 3 of my characters above 330 without every doing a single raid. Just grinding the Vanguard, Crucible, and Faction rank ups mostly.

Edit: And if you grind make sure to pick up each package as it is earned, they do overwrite if you level up the same faction twice and don't pick up the first package. Same when decrypting anything, they decrypt based on what your light is at that moment. Check each item as you decrypt it if you have a bunch, make sure to equip any better gear, it's tedious but it helps walk your light up. The 305 to about 319 was by far the slowest slog ever, because normal legendary drops and blue upgrade decrypts never seem to decrypt higher than 295 regardless of your level, and package rewards are fairly close. (also since blues are no longer relevant your drop rate of usable improvement is significantly less) Once I hit 319 though package rewards really improved. Always run 3oC, exotics will nearly always decrypt at or above your level and can be a nice boost if you get one high that's for one of your lowest slots. I farmed the Taken ultras on Earth (the Divide), and Venus (Citadel). Edit: if you have trouble, get a good sniper and Sleeper Simulant, I found the concentrated DPS really helped with bringing them down before time ran out, especially if by myself. A DIS-47 with hand laid stock has been my primary there, excellent at maintaining headshots.

CoE 42 does not require chat. Just agree plan ahead of time. If you can't do that yet, just run PoE 41. Drops are good there.

I soloed my way to 335 mainly using drops from IB to infuse my way up.

IB All 3 of mine are in the mid to high 320's. Haven't done the raid or 41 poe. Always have your highest light gear on when turning in packages or engrams

Hang out at the court of oryx and wait for people. When you decide make sure you upgrade anything with higher light. Even some of the blues will decide into upgrades

Just check out the LFG, that's what I do, and I've got two 334s

Get a bunch of strange coins by doing bounties and strikes and buy heavy from Xur. Level up factions and get better gear. That's how I got to 323 mostly solo.

I purposely didn't do a raid or anything that involved a mic to see if I could get to 335. Took a while but finally got there. 3oC is a good way because exotics drop at a higher light. Leveling up factions, vanguard and crucible also give you higher light level gear. But the best way was through iron banner. Grind that as much as you can for the drops. May seem like a drag but it will get you there dude :)

3 AntwortenI hope you realize you can get 335 with out raid thanks to 3 of coins. 335 artifact can drop at Cory of oryx, ghost she'll from challenge of elders or iron banner. All other slots can come from 3 of coins or stoke specific drops. 335 is a lot easier to get to than all the other max light levels since launch.

I haven't touched the raid and all 3 characters are above 330. I don't raid cause I mostly play at night kid and wife sleeping can't be on mic. You don't need mic for CoE just go to LFG and Fi d people not using mics. Court of oryx, nightfall, shaxx weekly bounty, iron banner . These all will give you stuff up to 335.

Grab a bunch of 3Oc's from xur tomorrow. Head into the COE solo or with team. Pop a coin at the beginning of each wave and then another right before you down the boss. Exotics will be yours, use proper infusion techniques, and boom! Higher light level achieved. Goodluck and if you need a team mate this weekend, hit me up! Glad to help.
