Throughout the entire Taken King expansion people have told you countless times the loot compared to your light is completely random and most of the time rewards you with 280 in normal activities and 310 max on occasion in nightfalls and weekly crucible bounties. Now the raid on the other didn't care about your light pre-patch and you had to pray you got a useful drop. So for months we suffered with our concerns falling on deaf ears but then 6 or so months later you give us rank up packages that dependent on our light of all sorts and even Trials and now Iron Banner gives very generous loot dependent on your current light. Now why do I feel like this current system was intended in day one of Taken King but something or someone caused it to go wrong or I could be wrong and they simply couldn't do it until now. The packages giving higher light than yourself and the increased rep gains really does give off the vibe that you, bungie didn't but could of implement this day 1 of TTK but didn't so people would play longer but now has added it because of all the complaints that can't go unheard anymore up until this free update.
So why Bungie?

You've answered your question already. The poor/broken loot system was utilized to keep players playing for as long as possible. Many players got fed up and a mass exodus from Destiny to other games occurred . Destiny became less FUN to play. In order to get players back Bungie decided that they needed to reward players for their time investment. Hence the changes since Apr. 12th. In retrospect it was the players that ended up leaving Destiny which were the players that made Destiny a better game. If they wouldn't of left I'd wager that Bungie wouldn't of made the game more FUN to play.

From what I understand, this is the flow MMO's. Release a big expansion and draw out the grind for a while, then release another expansion/ update towards the end of the year and make it rewarding so everyone can catch up and be on the same level for when the next BIG expansion comes along.

I think they are trying to win back the people they lost with the division. The division has had a rough few weeks...like really bad just check the division redditt. Many divisioners are finding themselves back in destiny and they like it. I hate to say it but I am one of them. Didn't think I would be playing destiny again till part 2.

3 AntwortenIt's close enough to Destiny 2.0 that they can go ahead and let everybody max out, won't matter in a few months anyways...
-
It's called progress. Destiny to me has been a slow progress with each update things have gotten better. Yes there have been some back steps but mostly overall progress has been forward. I think they are experimenting now by saying how will our players react when we give them quicker and easier loot options. So far I am loving it as is the rest of my clan. You feel like you are being rewarded for playing now. I hope they continue this trend for further updates and not roll back the loot options with the fall expansion or Destiny 2.

I think it's because they actually have a team now to improve things. Before, everyone was working on D2, and possibly the fall content. They brought in High Moon Studios, and that probably cleared up some room.
-
Because a new expansion is coming and they want people to "max". Or because they want to. Who the shit cares???

I understand why you made this post... But...
Don't complain.
Cuz this game is dead

It was more of a trial and error. First it was ethernic light(I think I"m a year 2 player) then it was the .6 or so infusion now it's 1:1. They are learning with their mistakes. I bet they saw the stats how most people didn't make it to 320 light and they knew the messed up on that part so they had to put the 1:1 infusion. I was thinking they would do like 80% (since it's bungie) so lets say a putting a 310 into a 320 would be 318 but they made it how everyone wanted.

Well they wanted to stop bitch posts like this from flooding their forums but it obviously isn't working out as intended.

Seeing as how we don't have an expansion until the Fall, I think they are just letting us have our fun. And honestly this update has brought some of the best changes I have seen in this game so far. It feels worth it to me again. And that is a very good thing.

Cause bungie is like internet explore. They'll listen eventually but they're just really really slow
-
I think the player base was shrinking fast and they needed to do something to lure people back.

Because the community wouldn't stop bitching.
