I'm recapping some of the more common weapons being called OP right now.
Primaries
• TLW
• Thorn
• Doctrine of Passing
• Mida
Specials
• Thousand Yard Stare
• Conspiracy Theory D
Spend about 6 minutes looking through #feedback and I can nearly guarantee you will see a post for each one of those.
But hold on;
Look again. In the so called "OP category" we have representatives from 3 of the 4 primary archetypes. Never before has this game had that.
It used to be (Vex)AR, then Hand Cannons, then PRs.
Now, for the first time ever - I can choose a weapon from any archetype and still compete.
Now, I can let the map decide my load out.
The primary meta is the most balanced it's ever been, the community has proved that in their inconsistent nerf requests.
Nirwens Mercy is still very viable, and Bad JuJu is sneaky good.
The special Meta is still entirely dominated by shotguns and snipers.
Shotguns are still king in 6v6, sorry it's true. Spend some time on guardian.gg
As long as there are revive shields, snipers will dominate in 3v3 game modes.

TYS is not OP.
• Its impact is mediocre (good enough for a revive snipe, though), I would be interested in seeing what an overall damage reduction to body shots would look like..
• its aim assist is mediocre (though with a lucky "god roll"' you can get AA around 70, still far short of the 99 with Weylorans March)
• what is broken is the rather large hit box for crits in close/medium range. This causes a serious infringement on side arms and fusions. "Barrel stuffing" should not exist.
CTD is not OP
•its impact is good, but terrible RoF is very high risk/high reward
• range is in a good place
Be careful what you ask for. We are in a good spot. We definitely do not need more nerfs, but a couple buffs would go along way, especially with fusions and side arms.
Be happy where we are at, and after you're beat be quick to say "wow, good shit bro" instead of "NNEERRRFFFF"
We need to earn back the trust of the Devs, so they can use their own forums for information.
im not excusing them for what they are doing, but we should fix what we can
We pushed them away with, honestly, ridiculous rage posts devoid of critical thinking.
Bungie will not make emotion, petition driven decisions. If you think something is broken do some research - there are resources out there. It's not my responsibility to fact check your bullshit.

2 AntwortenBearbeitet von Heil hydr8: 2/20/2016 5:58:18 PMSnipers in general are OP due to their ease of use and their beyond bullshit use of any range with no fear. If im putting red deaths high caliber rounds into your face there is no excuse for you being able to headshot me every f**king time. Thats not skill, illustrated by the fact that the pleb on their team can do it while I'm wrecking their face and i can kill the best guy on their team while he's shooting me, with a sniper. I only consider MIDA due to the fact that it can 4 shot but doesnt have the same ttk as its brethren in the 4 shot category (ex. hung jury). If that wasnt bad enough, it is also far more usable at any range. Close quarters against an AR? No problem with the MIDA. long range fight against a shitty sniper? No problem, let me 4 shot you. But it is SLOWLY dying down so i dont care about it as much as the snipers and the other two hand cannons. You cant say there is balance when their are SPECIFIC guns that are running the crucible not a whole variety of weapons. Nothing can beat TLW up close unless they suck. Thorn has the ability to 3 shot no matter where you hit. MIDA can be used anywhere no issues. I literally say thank you out loud any time i see anything different besides those 4 guns you listed and believe me when i say that its rare. This current "meta" or whatever you want to call it, is tolerable at best right now. If it doesnt change soon i have no plans to keep playing, especially when they announce their next $20 content boost in the spring.

2 AntwortenRNG too OP, nerf please!

2 AntwortenOp uses conspiracy theory-D
-
1 AntwortenTo be fair... spend 6 minutes in THESE forums and you'll see a post about every gun/ability needing a nerf
-
1 AntwortenWell spoken, Would be nice to see other weapons buffed back to glory to bring more diversity to the table.
-
I use the conspiracy and see it ever where in the crucible so I thought that shotguns were still pretty good, but I decided to use my immobius for the ROF. Every other shotgun I have used cannot get a kill no matter which range. People only think the conspiracy is op because it is used everywhere, but people only use it because every other shotgun has been nerfed into oblivion.
-
1 AntwortenI'm convinced the only things in this game that are OP are the posts about OPness!
-
6 AntwortenWell said. I almost stopped reading when I saw you added Mida to the list of OP weapons. I don't use the weapon myself, but I have played against many who do and I don't think the weapon is out of balance at all. But I continued reading anyways and I am glad that I did. You gave some very thoughtful analysis in your post, which is rare these days.

1 AntwortenAnd this was reason why i pushing (since year one) for two stats. One for PvE and second one for PvP. With two aplied stats there will be no need to nerf weaponary. Ingame excuse can be PvE stats (ghost unlock full potential of weaponary against creatures of darkness) and for PvP can be something like (Vanguard lock full potential for Crucible training between guardians because they are not creatures of darkness). For example ;)

1 AntwortenMy list. NOTHING

2 AntwortenMida and snipers and shotguns aren't op. I really don't wanna get into a rant about this but they really aren't. Here's my list at least as far as snipers goes though. This is all base aim assist The yard stare has 56 aim assist... The her benevolence has over 60 The supremacy has over 65 The LDR 5001 has over 60 The shadow of veils has 69 Shortgaze adds 15 Hidden hand adds 15. This means if you get the "perfect role" the max a yard stare can have is 86 (that's crazy) BUT supremacy has somewhere between 63-69 (I believe 66 is the exact) and if you gave it that it would have 96 (if my estimations are correct) Snipers were WAY better back in HoW but the reason no one complained was because blink shotgun ruled PvP. anyone who does whine about snipers just stop because snipers are NOT op in their current state. It's just that everything else sucks. (Not that you're whining)
-
3 AntwortenTLW- just the range Thorn- yes Doctrine- no Mida-overused Thousand yard- no. If hidden hand was remove it would affect it only a little Conspiracy- no
-
Bearbeitet von iSeeQer4: 2/19/2016 7:32:22 PMIs it the roll of conspiracy theory d or just that archetype of shotguns? I'm confused because high impact has more range while low-medium Impact shotguns has a faster fire rate with decent range.
-
2 AntwortenGood post from the PvP perspective but the balance needs to be kept out of PvE. Bungie has killed many classic and unique guns due to PvP balancing. But...very well thought out feedback.
-
4 AntwortenConspiracy theory isn't op Great damage yes but also you have to look at its reload time which is awful That's the trade off Mida isn't either Nothing has changed since year one
-
1 AntwortenAwesome post.. Agree with everything you said.
-
2 AntwortenBearbeitet von J Stevensontown: 2/18/2016 10:32:15 PMNothing in this game is op Aside from all the glitches and garbage coding, landfall should not destroy defender bubble, & snipers shouldn't consistently quick scope headshot pop shot from melee distance, arm and leg shots shouldn't leave you absolute
-
1 AntwortenThank you for this.

1 AntwortenBill Gates paycheck.
