BTB is a joke in Halo 5
To me, this studio needs a new head or a lot more people. Its unacceptable to me that this studio gets all this time to make a main halo game and still cant manage to finish it on time. Plus, they cop-out and make forge maps that are going to be mostly community created part of those "free" maps, features that are lacking (like SP scores, firefight) missing gametypes, usability that needs improving (like how to download forge maps), etc.
How the -blam!- does BTB not have one real map......NOT ONE! What is this shit... I dont think my expectations are unreasonable.
If Bungie could do it, then so can they. Im fed up of waiting year after year, game after game just hoping they deliver on the next one. 343 needs a shake up imo.

1 Antworten~on time? maybe microsoft should stop hyping shit before it's ready. both times with mcc and 5 is because microsoft didn't budge on a release date. publishers need to stop pushing devs and stop hyping shit before it's out. that's not how you make quality products or keep a lasting fanbase. ~"cop out." yes because letting the community get involved is copping out. ~free is free. but lil shits like you will always find something to complain about simply because you weren't hugged enough as a child. ~firefight has been absent for 3 titles. there has never been any indication of it returning. So I don't know why you would expect it to. ~"real" is relative. and is just another chip on your hyperbolic pile. ~Bungie never once created a perfect title. halo 2 is a good example. and you all blame 343 for "killing" halo. even though Bungie created reach and it was a game THEY really wanted to make. straight from their mouth. Not to mention none of bungies titles were ever as complex mechanically as the 3 titles 343 has put out. So I don't know what you're applauding them for. You're just another -blam!-ing fanboy who has to bash on a quality product because your unhappy with yourself. halo 5 is good. the best title since halo CE. granted it lacks a good amount of custom game types. But it launched with a VERY good base. Something most triple A titles haven't done in the past year.

2 AntwortenI don't like the maps or the lack of vehicles and vehicle variety. BTB was always my favorite Halo gamemode and was dissapointed with what we got, however that being said, I still think Halo 5 is a fantastic and fun game.

Halo Reach had the best BTB in my experiences. Halo 4 people would team kill for power weapons and the scorpion and in Halo 5? Oh god... Spawn camping, team killing, and just not playing the objective.

Why do most people forget that the majority of developers at 343 are the former Bungie employees who worked on Halo, that transferred once bungie started on destiny

Yes, btb could use more original maps. Do I care? No. Is it still fun? In my opinion, yes.

Ironic that you blame 343i for contracting well-regarded community Forgers to remake fan-favorite Bungie maps, or those of their own design. While that doesn't excuse the fact that the BTB maps have the same amount of power weapons as the normal Arena maps, you can't force 343i to take the blame for something they actually didn't do (for once).

4 AntwortenI never really understood the issue people had with maps made in forge. If they weren't made in forge they would still have the exact same layout. The only real issue was the limited color pallets got old in the past, but now that is no longer an issue. The current forge is barely any different from the tools that 343 uses to make regular maps. The major difference being that you can't import more assets into forge, only use what is there (which is a LOT). The issue is not that the maps are made in forge. That's not an issue in the slightest. The only issue is that the maps are poorly balanced to begin with, and they would be whether they were forged or not.

I'd prefer to see more maps created from scratch by the studio themselves rather than the community. I never liked the forge maps that were included in the Halo 4 playlists. The same goes for this game, only now there's even more of them included to dislike. Simply put, Forge maps have little charm or atmosphere.

1 AntwortenMeanwhile the new "real" maps for arena just seem to be slightly altered versions of the "real" arena maps that don't already have altered versions. Overgrowth being an alternate version of Plaza for example.

Apparently 343i has made over 2 million on REQ packs so far, and they're throwing all that money on that stupid tournament rather than the game itself.
