Aclyophage Symbiote was my first exotic in year 1. It has and will always have a place in my heart. Adding an extra Golden Gun shot was just, amazing. Although Golden Gun only lasted eleven seconds, it was still one of my favorite supers, especially with Symbiote.
Upon the release of the December update, Symbiote was nerfed. Golden Gun's duration is reduced to 9 seconds. This is somewhat understandable, but that forces me to activate Golden Gun directly in front of enemies. Golden Gun doesn't grant any damage reduction, causing death before a single shot can be fired. If I don't activate it directly in front of enemies, I only get to fire one or two accurate shots.
What is the point of Symbiote if you don't even get to use the fourth shot? I don't know anymore. Maybe it's purpose is to waste an exotic slot. Maybe it is to simply look cool.
My only problems are that it is the only exotic in the game that has a negative effect. The other problem is that Sunbreakers have a perk that grants bonus hammers and increases the duration of Hammer of Sol. That is a perk, while Symbiote is an exotic. No, I am not crying for a Sunbreaker nerf. I personally think they should be buffed. Symbiote should be returned to its original state though.

I loved using it in year one. I could have supers and grenades for days with my hunters setup. Now that they brought it forward and nerfed it, it lasts less time than not using it. Sadly unless they get rid of the nerf that was uncalled for on it, I will never use it in year 2.
