If anything speaks to how meaningless of the current light system, it's the wonderfully needed Maximize Light feature on the Manage gear beta. There is the choice of infuse and you usually get jipped on that, then you are more or less forced to use whatever is packing the most light. More of the same old in a new wrapper. Don't get me wrong, there is part of the system that is an improvement but clearly not overall.
