This "new RNG System" sucks ass.
[b][u]Let's get this trending by hitting that favorite so we can give a post for Bungie to see just how many of us are getting duplicates![/u][/b]
So as any destiny player, I bought 4 helmet engrams to try and go for that Y2 exotics. Redeem them one at a time, I dont spam. I use 2 on my titan, and 1 on each of my other classes. 2 on my titan that I redeemed were both skullfort, after I just bought the helmet itself from Xur. I redeemed one on my hunter and it was that new Titan helm that gives Angel of Light. I redeemed one on my warlock and got another skullfort. As anyone would, I was pissed. But I carried on and did a nightfall and guess what I got?

Apparently this new RNG System is not working for shite. I don't need 4 skullforts, so why did I get 4?
[b][u]EDIT #1:[/u][/b] Seems like I'm not the only one getting duplicates. Hopefully Bungie addresses the issue as its a little more than just having "bad luck".
[b][i]EDIT #2:[/i][/b] I bought these engrams 9/18 at 7:00 A.M. Eastern US for those accusing me of not knowing better. I had no other way of knowing prior this was an issue with exotic engrams as well. I had never gotten that many duplicates out of just 4 engrams, so I was not expecting that to happen to me then, especially with the "New RNG System" they implemented.
[b][u]EDIT #3:[/u][/b] Here's one quote from an article who wrote about their announcement of the changes.
[spoiler][i]The other important thing to take away from this is the changes that Bungie will be making to the RNG loot system. In Destiny 2.0 the system will have some procedures in place to limit the range of chosen items that can drop for you. This limit will be determined by the gear you already have as well as the weapons that have already dropped for you. Bungie has stated that these changes are meant to make each drop more meaningful - by reducing the amount of duplicate drops players get - and also to increase the chances of each drop actually pushing you forward in your level and goal of hitting the maximum level in Destiny.[/i][/spoiler]

Ok well then please explain the Two Xur Helms and 3 Draksis Helms I received... Were all Obsidian Mind 2.0. I turned the Xurs in back to back and then Draksis back to back to back while waiting about 30 seconds in between. Ya, same with Weapons all Y1 Upgrades. Trying to get Y2s.

I call conspiracy. They didn't fix it at all, at least not yet. I'm going to guess because Bungie doesn't want us to get all the good gear in the first few weeks. They'll probably issue a fix in 2-3 weeks, maybe more.

on my warlock it has been 5 Obsidion minds and 6 Light Beyonds

I'm still a bit disappointed I get rare drops at 296 but my exotics are 290 or 280 and my legendary drops are in the 270s. Yes I infuse, but with infusing you only gain about 80% of the difference if the difference is higher than 3 points.

Reduce duplicate drops?!! Bullmother-blam!-ingshit. I got 4 alpha lupis, 2 invectives, 2 fourth horseman, 2 last words, 2 don't touch me, and 2 mask of the third man. Don't even get me started on the light levels I'm getting from engrams. I have 295 light and that blue asshole keeps giving me 260-270 light level gear!!!!!! The next time he pulls that bullshit I'm gonna break his iPad.

I actually like the new system. Try using the new coins instead of the engrams, they got me a ton of new exotics.

wow i think i was the only one, this weekend i get like 4 helment engram, 3 gauntlets and 2 chest armor and i get 4 freakin skullfront, 2 no backup plans and 2 alpha lupi for the titan!!!! that RGN "new" system is a shit ton of BS....

Apperently its supposed to be biased towards the class tou encrypt them on! On my hunter i buy 3 helmets all 3 turn into light beyond nemesis forcing me to buy more to get a hunter helmet! wtf is that shit
