Did they ruin the Nightfall?
Personally, I liked the fact that you got kicked to orbit if you failed. It added a heightened sense of danger. If you fail, you restart. Don't fail. Now if you all die it just wipes you like in a raid. They also will include a 30 second revive timer when you or your team mates die.
I also really liked the XP boost you got when you completed it. Now they are upping XP gains for all other activities.
How do you guys feel about the new Nightfall changes? Do you like them? Hate them? Don't care?
Edit 1: obviously I am reserving my judgement on this until the taken King comes out.

Edit 2: I never said that you won't get XP from the Nightfall. I said no more weekly XP boost.
You all make some great points. I can absolutely see how getting rid of loading screens is better.
Edit 3: The last thing I want is to spread misinformation. I don't want to speculate on how it will be. I am just going off of what Luke Smith said in the Weekly Update.

I believe it's good, I think it's boring getting kicked to orbit just to restart again, at least now we don't have to go to orbit we just restart

I like that I can do it whenever I want now instead of feeling like I'm wasting time if they're not the first thing I do in a week.

They legitimately said the nightfall mod made people play too cautiously, which is not what they wanted

They removed the xp boost cause they did not want everyone sitting a level 34 hitting 40 and starting to gather new armor and weapons and getting them going by the end of the week. That xp boost, good luck seeing it again before the next exspansion comes out.

I think it restarts the entire nightfall basically like sending you to orbit but not as long of a process.

For me I think I'll need to play it to get a feel for the changes. As far as the XP bonus goes, I'm happy they removed it.

1 AntwortenI feel the same way about the nightfall changes, I thought nightfall was the perfect weekly challenge but with checkpoints it's not the same. I hope they change it back.

3 AntwortenI liked the experience boost, and I liked how you had to restart if you failed. Sure it made people play more conservative, but it also made people learn how to stay alive, which moments were safe to res teammates, and also drove you to learn the strikes better. Yes, for many the nightfall is the first activity we do with each character that week. I'm fine with that. It takes an hour or two to do three runs, and you have the option to run one character and then continue on to other activities with that same character before doing the other two runs. There is also the satisfaction of soloing something where one mistake could lead to a complete restart.

2 AntwortenI love how they made it a big deal about not having to chose between guardians like we ever had a problem. Not once had I ever saw someone complain about doing the Nightfall three times. Why? Because the reward was rich. We've been robbed and I bet they don't deliver what they promise in the future.

Yeah kinda because nightfalls were something special and it was a huge part of our destiny week's routine even it was sometimes supa hard , we liked this . The win or fail was great !

I fail to see what the big deal is? Seems like barely a thing has changed, but alas the community will make a fuss anyway as with everything.

All in all they just nerfed it. Small benefit in that you don't get returned to orbit to save time. But a huge NERF that you can only get rewards once per account. And they are removing the exp boost, but claim they increased exp boosts across the board for normal things.

5 AntwortenEither way you are starting from the beginning if you wipe, now we just don't have to waste 10mins loading out and back in. As someone who always gets shit rewards from the nightfall I am disappointed that they are taking the xp/rep bonus out, that was really the only reason I ran them.

4 Antworten30 second revive times make it much more difficult. It means you only have 30 seconds to revive a teamout, its not like the ones in the raid. If you dont revive him in time hes out. If everyone dies you go to the very start of the strike again. I'd rather have that than be put into orbit
