The mentality of those who say "i'm bored of my Fatebringer, Gally and Black Hammer. I'm happy they are nerfing every single piece of gear i grinded for so i will have incentive to play again" is not a very logical way of thinking(no offense) here is why.
First off, if YOU are bored then drop your "boring" guns voluntarily, exercise some willpower, and go try something new on your own accord. Trust me, its better than being forced to grind for new guns.
Secondly, who are YOU to say to those who grinded endlessly for an entire, literal YEAR building an arsenal perfectly tailored to the way they play and love to just move on, "stop whining"? That just sounds rediculous.
Thirdly, if players were to keep their old guns it would not harm YOU nor anyone else in anyway. So what if i want to use the Strange Suspect for 10 years? It is and should be MY/the players choice to make, NOT yours or anyone opposing them. You are literally opposing something that cannot harm or dull the experience for you or anyone else in any way and would also make half the player base very happy!
Fouthly, Some of you will say this is an MMO and we should have expected this. Well, according to the Wiki, it's not an MMO. But lets say it is anyway. Other MMO's are vastly different from Destiny. Destiny is its own game! Do you know what Destiny REALLY is(cause everyone seems to have forgetting this genre)...A LOOT Based Shooter! Lest we forget Borderlands started that. That is what Destiny is, NOT an MMO. And just because someone else did it wrong, doesn't mean WE should do it wrong. This game is about choice. MMO or not Bungie themselves even said the exotics at the very least would never fade and "we would never have to worry"... well, here we are. WE should have a choice! And now all the choices we worked for will vanish into obsoletion.
Lastly, just because someone plays to build a weapons collection or for a different reason than YOU doesn't mean their way of playing or opinion is wrong. People have different perspectives on this game! Just because they don't share yours doesn't mean they should GTFO. Honestly, if you can't respect theres then YOU should GTFO as it is not a matter of moral anymore, it is a fact you cannot handle others opinions. If your opinion hurts others then let it be known! If it does not then leave it alone!
If one side of the forums says "Let year 1 legendaries and exotics buff alongside the new TTK gear" it literally hurts no one.
If one side of the forums says "Don't let year 1 legendaries and exotics buff alongside the new TTK gear" it hurts a lot of players!
We grinded hard for our gear

1 AntwortenI have an idea! It's an off the wall idea one that most of you have overlooked especially you Op and your bud Ken. Ready? Are you ready? Ok here goes... Wait until TTK drops so you're absolutely positive your old weapons are less effective in year 2. That way you can really feel like you're right not this half-assed feeling of "my way or the highway." Yeah I may sound sarcastic but that's beside the point. I hope this gave you a new outlook on where you stand in regards to this situation.

I couldn't agree with you more. Bungie has pretty much lost me with this DLC due to all that.

2 AntwortenThere the best pve load out..... And there's no reason to use anything else fate bringer kills everything easily, blackhammer kills with bottomless amo, and I don't have to explain jelly. I don't have a problem with them but they can't make anything stronger them these amazing weapons.

4 AntwortenDude its progress....get on board or get left behind....its done. 100 post about thus same subject isn't going to change that. IT'S DONE. The sooner you realize it the happier your life will become

9 AntwortenAgree. Letting yr 1gear stay relevant effects no one taking it away does. Plus if they were relevant it would give a greater number of weapons therfore giving players more options. Bungle just needs to learn how to make weapons that can compete with the ones we all love.

Bungee clearly is still trying to figure out what kind of game they want Destiny to be. If all the changes in the TTK don't make that clear then I don't know what will. If you are going to keep playing Destiny and continue paying for the content you had better be okay with changes like these. If your not that's fine, I won't tell you you should be. But everyone has to understand that Destiny is Bungies game. Ultimately it is their decision to make the changes they want, not our decision. Now obviously they want people to enjoy their game, and that's why they want to hear our feed back, but it's still their vision for destiny. So my suggestion is if changes like this make you upset then you might want to put down Destiny until Bungie has figured it out. I can't agree more with people who have said that year one has basically been a beta. So far I have enjoyed everything that I have gone through in my experience with Destiny, so I will continue to pay for the new content until I stop enjoying it.

5 AntwortenGet over it. New year, new gear.

4 AntwortenI'm getting tired of the fact there's not a huge variety of weapons to complete ANY task in this game. Everyone uses either Fatebringer/VoC/Fang/WoC + Icebreaker/Praedyths/LDR + Gjallarhorn/HoC/Truth/or any Arc launcher to complete PvE content. For PvP its Thorn/TLW/Messenger + Matador/Felwinters/PartyCrasher or Her Benevolence/LDR/Efrideets Spear (mostly final round on the last two) + Proximity rockets I say give me more to play with. I'm tired of this stuff.

Why does not being able to use old stuff in a game bother you? Most every single game makes older gear useless as you progress through the game. What was the best once isn't usually the best later.
As a side note, the point of a game is to have fun. If you aren't playing a game to have fun first, then why are you playing at all? Collecting stuff is all well and good, but it probably should never be the main focus, especially if the things that you are collecting serve no purpose in enjoying the game.
Your pixels are WORTHLESS now NERD!
hehe
2 AntwortenYea it's time for change

You will find better gear and find that Fatebringer YR2 version. And until we know the numbers for sure we still might be just as deadly playing with YR1 gear if it is only a small loss in damage. I love my Fatebringer and VoC and Gally but let's see what we find in year 2!

If you're emotionally attached to a pretend gun in a video game you've got greater issues to worry about.

8 AntwortenWith the knowledge that my exotics may or may not become obsolete with release of a large dlc, the desire to grind and "collect-them-all" is no longer there. Why spend hundreds of hours in raids, strikes, and other "end-game" content when my time will have been wasted because the item I received is perceived as overpowered and subsequently abandoned during the next DLC launch? It fundamentally makes no sense and is counter intuitive, and anyone with common sense would recognize that. I understand that older weapons are far to superior to bring into the new year, but I didn't ask bungie to make vanilla weapons the best that would ever exist within the Destiny universe, they themselves made that mistake. They set the bar and have been unable to surpass it and are attempting to wipe the slate clean, but in the process they are also telling me that a large majority of the time I spent grinding for weapons in this game was for naught.

21 AntwortenBearbeitet von Celoxamortis: 8/22/2015 8:35:59 PM
Fouthly, Some of you will say this is an MMO and we should have expected this. Well, according to the Wiki, it's not an MMO. Do you know what Destiny REALLY is(cause everyone seems to have forgetting this genre)...A LOOT Based Shooter! Lest we forget Borderlands started that. That is what Destiny is, NOT an MMO.
And here, folks, we have someone who bought the PR nonsense. Destiny has always been, and will always be, an MMO. It has little in common with Borderlands except loot and far more in common with games like Warcraft, Rift, and Defiance - all three are MMOs. Six player end game raids vs. four man, entirely optional, raid bosses in Borderlands.. not even remotely a proper comparison. MMO checklist: Currency grinds? Check. Rep grinds? Check. Small group dungeon content? Check. Larger group raid content? Check. Character progression centered around an end game gear grind? Check. Planned obsolescence of gear with each content update? Check. It doesn't matter what you want to call it or what PR bullshit you've bought into, Destiny was ABSOLUTELY designed around a MMORPG foundation. And there's nothing "unique" that disqualifies Destiny from the MMO moniker except, maybe, the lack of a genuinely large social space. What, you think Vanguard, Crucible, and Legendary Marks are somehow unique to Destiny? Warcraft's Justice and Valor marks say hello (and then goodbye, since Blizzard got rid of them). Bungie calls Destiny a shared world shooter simply because they don't want to be grouped into the MMO genre but make no mistake, Destiny is a BUY TO PLAY MMO, PERIOD. The only thing your post is illustrating is that you've never played any MMOs because if you had you'd see that nearly every element IN Destiny aside from the shooting has been lifted from the MMO 101 Textbook. Whether you like it or not, they're moving more towards the MMO design factors with the leveling system, the currency changes, and the gearing changes. TL;DR - Borderlands is modeled after Diablo: 4 player coop with optional raid bosses and a flood of loot. Destiny is modeled after MMOs with end game grinds, required social interaction for end game raiding, perpetual character progression, and a slow drip feed of gear.

2 AntwortenTldr. Generating auto-response: stop crying you pansy. Or leave the game if your this upset.

stop whining about ur legendaries getting nerfed

I don't want to have to go through another year of feeling like an asshole when the people with Gjallarhorns are skewing Bungie's encounter balancing so much we have to start kicking people without it to get it done. That's my opinion, and as you said in your last paragraph; if you can't respect that and you absolutely have to have control, absolutely have to have your way without thought to the consequences we've literally observed(Skolas original, anyone?), you probably shouldn't be talking.

Dark Below: Nope, can't upgrade Mythoclast. Sorry! House of Wolves: Yup, you can upgrade mythoclast. Cool! I wouldn't get upset until we actually play the game.
