Left-leaning Republican. I identify more with the old school party than I do the new one. People often forget that prior to Reagan, the party actually had some credibility. It wasn't so hellbent on being anti-Democrat, the religious social conservatism, and Reaganomics. In many ways the parties were very similar with the exception that the Republicans were admirably more pragmatic whereas the Democrats were (and in many ways still are) more idealistic. It was even Republican Richard Nixon who started the Environmental Protection Agency--something unthinkable to modern Republicans. I would like for either Lincoln Chafee or Bernie Sanders to win the 2016 election.
