"Yes death always has an emotional toll. Although I couldn't care less for that, I'm just here to collect and judge them."
The man took out his scythe but hesitated.
"Odd, unknown...who was she?"
English
-
"Her name was Aliza, she owned the Crimson Flagon."
-
"Well whoever she was or rather is she isn't dead, or at least I can't confirm. I guess that might be a hope for you." The man put his scythe back on his back and observed Pavel. As his duration of his gaze lengthened Pavel's subconscious fears began to nip at his mind. "But no matter. My work is done."
-
He shuttered at his inner most fears that began to surface. He was not sure what about this man caused this but even while he was uncomfortable he never lowered his gaze. "What do you mean not dead?"
-
"Well I can't seem to locate where her soul should be. It should have been up for reaping but it appears it is elsewhere. Unless her soul is with someone else or isn't even hers. It's interesting. What is your affiliation with her anyway?"
-
"I don't see why that matters now, even if you were right and she wasn't dead."
-
"You're right. I'm not condoning you to finding her. If she is alive I'll have to find methods of collecting her. So I'll give that to you as a warning to not find her."
-
"You could try." He says matter of factly, something tells you that the thing that would stop you wouldn't necessarily be him. "But then, you've missed others before, and will miss others in the future."
-
"I'm aware of that. But they will be hunted and all of them will find themselves back to me. Familiar with a man named Akron?"
-
"I know him, knew him in passing. So you're his death god that he spoke of." Pavel began to understand who this man was, and that lessened his apprehension.
-
"No one escapes my grasp, not even my own champions. Simple lesson no? Keep that in mind if you go searching for her. You or her wouldn't want such a violent fate would you?"
-
"Bold seeing as you and I both know that you do not collect the people of Yamato, our spirits go to our blades, to guide the next generation of warriors." He pats the scabbard of his sword.
-
"Yes you are interesting ones. And Nikki's kind is technically immortal, and Aliza is....you are interesting all of you but I keep an eye on you, or more wait for you to die. My brother was supposed to keep watch over your fleeting lives."
-
"You refer to your brother in past tense, as if he doesn't do his job or is dead."
-
The god's eyes narrowed to very thin slits and he spoke in a sharp hiss "Dead. So is his successor and son. So no more God to guide the mortals anymore. But it matters not to me. It does not affect me." True to Ryker's previous statements, Oshirik did not care for anything, the death of his own kin did not faze him.
-
"Oh how wrong you are, life and death are forever intertwined, with out one there cannot be the other. There must always be balance, that there is not should trouble you more than it does."
-
"Without my brother around, that only means he can't watch over you. I still manage my duties perfectly. Life only leads to death, but death does not lead to life."
-
"Yet for there to be death there must be life. Ryker is right, your single mindedness is pitiful."
-
"Let there be death. you throw away your lives then beg for second chances, there isn't mercy in reality. There's nothing beautiful to what your kind does, all of you only destroy and leave a mess and someone has to clean it up but only after there has been suffering. Your achievements sum to nothing, it is all blood trophies. Tell me that is not pitiful."
-
"If you already have that view, nothing I can say will change your mind. Not that I particularly care for what you think, death is fair, we all die in the end. But do not look at us mere mortals and think that you are much different. Death is the ultimate destroyer."
-
"If you already have that view then nothing I will say will change your mind. But take away the destruction of man and what impact does death have on the world it overshadows?"
-
"As I said everything dies eventually, even with out mankind things would not be any better."
-
"Prove it. The first wars sprouted from the greed of man, the first destruction of land from their desire for territory. I was given the purpose of keeping account on death because of the destruction you caused."
-
"Take away man and you still have a plethora of other races that are hundreds of times worse, the orks live for war, the tyranids consume everything, and the necron are just creepy. Humanity at least tries to improve their surroundings."
-
"Do tell me how they have improved. Improved your structures, your technology? Morally all of you have gotten worse with each generation. You can't tell me otherwise, I was there when the first humans were created."
-
"There are good and bad with every generation, there has been no change in mortality only population, as it increases so too do the extremes."
