There is a serious problem with a class when you start seeing posts in LFG for PvP that strictly say "NO TITANS". I've mained a Titan since Beta and I absolutely love them. It's honestly hard to go away from my Titan and rank up my other character (including a freshly made warlock for a tank)
And in those parenthesis lies the problem...
How is a warlock going to be a tank class? It doesn't compute...
When I was initially reviewing all the classes, they all sounded amazing, but I play to a specific archetype. I love being the tank. The one who runs in as a distraction, takes a -blam!- ton of damage, and allows my teammates to wreak havoc on all those around me. Upon initially seeing the classes and their description, these were my initial thoughts....
Titan - The tankiest of tanks. No range whatsoever, but if you're close enough to punch, you're screwed.
Warlock - Glass cannon. Can do a -blam!- ton of damage in proportion, but relies on distance to be their closest ally.
Hunter - the Quick son of a bitch. Uses quick reflexes and speed to get it, cause some chaos, and GTFO before anyone really realized what happened.
Now initially, this was pretty clear in Vanilla, but as additional exotics came out, the roles changed.... Currently I see them as such...
Warlock - Tank. Wicked Mid-range damage. best melee in the game if running Sunsinger.
Hunter - best long range super, by far. Dual offensive classes make any choice a good choice. Honestly pretty balanced, lives up to expectation with the exception of blink. How exactly does this make sense on a hunter? Warlock, I got it. Space magic. But a hunter? I don't see it...
Titan - best close range super, but melee sucks, and a lackluster support class. oh! But we have a OHK! Shoulder charge!!!! Oh, but it doesn't always work as intended and leaves a Titan vulnerable while idiotically running at an enemy. Or you flank them and have to time your sprint so you'll have it charged when you're close enough, and assuming their not running away. Oh, and the Ram allows warlocks to tank it (unless you have peregrine greaves)
All in all, Titans either need a HUGE buff to bring them in line/above warlocks (as far as armor) OR some shit needs to be changed with the warlock (flame shield being granted on kill instead of hit to match Force Barrier) and their Exotics (Change Ram's perk to increase recovery.) or both.
TL;DR:
Titans suck, warlocks are OP due to space magic, and Hunter do whatever they want. Please fix.

I agree. The Titan doesn't fit into it's archetype too well. The only reason it can even be considered a tank is because of Ward of Dawn. The Titan's supers are ok. I only wish we had more tools at our disposal to better fulfill that archetype. My suggestions: Striker: Increase the radius of Fist of Havoc. I'm not sure if it was lag or something else, but I've come to notice that I can evade a Fist of Havoc a lot easier than a Nova Bomb. I feel they should be at least the same if they are not, given the risk you have to take to close the distance on the enemy. Shoulder Charge should grant armor bonus at the time of execution. Or maybe have the same effect as Blink to where you can evade damage. Currently Shoulder Charge mostly only works against people that are not aware of you or don't have a shotgun. If you have to depend on stealth for this skill, it doesn't really fit. You are still vulnerable during the charge time and you still have to gauge the distance versus your time left in the charge. It feels like it gives you too little reward for the risk when a shotgun can achieve the same result much easier. Increase the blind effect of the Flashbang, maybe to an addtional second. When used at a distance, the blindness wears off by the time you reach the target. It has a pretty long fuse time compared to like Pulse and Lightning, making it hard to use in close quarters and gives you the risk of blinding yourself as well. Maybe decrease the fuse time to make it easier to use in close quarters instead. Increase the damage of Storm Fist. Mostly a PVE thing. I don't know the damage values, but I feel a melee in a class that is advertised to be melee-centric should pack a bit more punch than it currently does. It can be toned down in PVP to remain a two-hit kill, but I'd like to see it do more work in PVE especially when Hunters and Warlocks have a range option. Less range for more power. Defender: Because Warlocks can also get an overshield without a melee kill, I suggest increasing the shielding of Force Barrier if it is to remain a kill-to-activate skill. Surviving a melee duel is a very difficult thing to do in this game due to range melee and shotguns, so I feel that would be a good reward. And it would fit the Defender archetype of defense better. Titans in general should also receive an innate armor buff. They may have the highest amount of armor of the 3 classes, but it doesn't feel like they are really tanks. All of their skills are close quarters, tankiness should be part of that territory. You can't deny that regardless of their armor, we ALWAYS find ourselves in corners right next to our Hunter and Warlock friends in raids and such. I suggest trying to go a bit more extreme on all 3 of the classes. Give Titans more armor, Warlocks more recovery, and Hunters more speed. It's funny how I can almost keep up to an Agility-maxed Hunter, and a warlock should not out-tank a Titan. Sunbreaker sounds like it might make the Titan a bit tanker, but 1 subclass should not fix the problem of the character in general.

The only thing I think Titans need is more base armor. They should naturally be tanky, and able to absorb more damage than any other class, without using your subclass perks.

2 Antworten
flame shield being granted on kill instead of hit to match Force Barrier
Here is Flame Shield and Force Barrier working the same (patch notes style): Flame Shield: This modifier for the Sunsinger Scorch melee now only grants a shield if the target is killed by the initial impact of the melee. Disintegrate: This ability now triggers (entering cooldown) the first time a melee connects with the target. The Force Barrier will only be granted if the target is killed. That doesn't seem like an improvement to me...

1 AntwortenTitans can dominate in pvp especially in to0 with flash bangs you can blind a team shoulder charge for quick kills in close quarters I like having a titan in the group with the ability to blind ppl just cause other ppl can't play good with them doesn't mean they need fixed

Titans aren't broken at all. I've gone flawless every single week in Trials on my titan, with a fireteam of 3 titans. It's all about strategy.

2 AntwortenI have never seen no Titans on lfg. Whenever I post I welcome Titans only because of the bubble. If a Titan was using striker in a raid or skolas and refused to change, I would probably kick.

3 AntwortenFist of Havoc needs to be buffed to where as soon as you execute the fist of havoc you immediately go into the armor lock from Halo: Reach. I think that's a fair adjustment to counter Thorn.
