Ya know, I don't hate homosexuals. I don't hate anyone for that matter. Neither does the God I follow, and the Lord I serve, Jesus Christ. All of this talk in the past few days about the legalization of Gay marriage has placed me into deep thought. The issue here has never been of hate. It has always been a matter of tradition and historical normalcy. By the standards of my morals and my values homosexuality is a sin. By the word of the bible I follow this also means that Gay marriage is wrong. Their is no debating this one truth. However just because it is wrong by my religion and by my values does not mean that I can dictate what these people do with their own lives. We all were born into a nation that claims to fight for freedom. If we truly are a nation that stands on the foundation of freedom then we should all come to one understanding. It is your right to speak out, to protest, and to worship the deity you choose. It is not however your right to stand on the rights of another. The moment such things occur we return to tyranny, and a place where our voices are not heard. We as Christians and non-believers must love the homosexual. I am not saying to accept the way they are, but you must understand, how will anyone ever learn the truth if all you spew at them is hatred? Instead I challenge you all, believers and non-believers. Respect the beliefs of those around you, agree to disagree, and love thy neighbor as you yourself long to be loved.
