I have a serious question. No sarcasm. Shocking I know.
What would happen if everyone just didn't buy ttk? Lots of variables here, but from a business standpoint. What would be the outcome?

Heads will roll, people will get fired, everyone will start pointing fingers, and Bungie and Activision will be highlighted as a red flag company which would hurt their investing power in the future. Same thing happened with EA and with Square Enix when FF14 online came out and bombed horribly. Keep in mind that this is all already starting to happen. When you have business agrigators like forbes and business insider writing articles that say "Bungie thanks fans by charging them even more money" your company is being red flagged on a world stage and it's a problem. And i am honestly fcking glad it's happening to them.

I really like this game. But I've said it many times that Bungie are some a-holes. And it shows.

Bearbeitet von Pew First: 6/29/2015 5:23:37 PMI agree. There might be some upper management issues. They've made some mistakes and recently had some bad PR. I'd like to know who the actual product manager is for Destiny.
-
I know he gets a lot of hate, but deej for example is just dry and an ass. Seriously. I could really care less, but this guy doesn't come across as a person who cares in the least about the customer/gamer... Why would they choose that as the voice of their company? Off topic.
-
I agree. PR is one of the issues. They failed to realize that and make adjustments. I personally believe they still haven't recovered from the interview debacle. Bad PR has been known to kill a good product.
-
No it's not forgotten. Deej' post is basically 'let's move past this' when it's still on the forefront of everyone's mind. Now it's a running joke in almost every conversation. 'Throw tour money at the screen'. Oh man what a disaster.
-
Yup a PR and Marketing mistake. If I was running things I would just say " ok we ducked up. Give everyone the exotics who purchase the expansion and get rid of that stupid Collectors edition title".
-
I think they are locked into it with activision. Just seems like it to me.
-
Bungie would be forced to look at why people didn't buy it, and attempt to remedy it.
-
Bungie / Activision would have to truly analyze the situation. They would be forced to listen to the customer to figure out what would be a good business model for the game.
-
I'm deff holding off, silent protest lol
-
First they would be forced to reduce the price, and then they would have serious discussions about if this model works...at the least.
-
Why would they have to reduce the price? It's not a real commodity. They don't have to sell them. Hell, they weren't going to sell them. They would probably blame us for not buying them after bitching so much, and then use it as an excuse not to do anything similar in the future, knowing them.
-
Like any product sold on the market, if the product fails and the inventory doesn't move, companies try to recover some of their loses buy reducing the price of the product. The money has already been invested in the product, the game. It cost Bungie money to develop the game. Now they are banking on the return of their investment when they release the game.
-
They aren't really stuck with any inventory, they are selling virtual merchandise!
-
Well actually there is some physical inventory, disc sold in stores or online. Yes I understand the digital download. The point being, Bungie has already invested their money in development. Selling their game is a way to get a return on their investment and profit. So there will be a profit margin they hope to hit. If they fall short, than they will have to answer to their investors.

Bearbeitet von Bendeus20: 6/29/2015 4:39:41 PMBecause they are banking on making more money on this stuff! If they don't sell it at $40, they will sure as hell try to sell it for less!
-
Banking on it? So, you think them announcing it later was a ruse? If that's true, then yes, they will lower the price, as I'm sure they won't get as many takers as they want. Might as well let as many people buy it at $20 first as possible.
-
The model kinda works but it alienates core players. Like in with the new, out with the old. I'm sure those discussions are being had already.
