I only keep Exotics, Unique Weapons, and Weapons that cannot be obtained ever again. I'd be fine with dismantling a weapon if it weren't so hard to get back. Say for instance, I delete my Fang of Ir Yut because I rarely ever use it except for a situation that it fits perfectly (Arc Burn + Hive Majors). Then, a couple weeks later, I decide "Hey I'd like the Fang again. I miss that weapon." Now I have to rely on the games RNG which has been proven to give you every weapon BUT the one you want for god knows how long. That is what makes me hesitant on deleting stuff. Plus, Bungie constantly preaches how you can "play the way you want", yet we collectors (or hoarders, I'll admit) are not included in that statement. To me, they are saying "Play the way you want to play! Except you weapon collectors, auto rifle users, loot cave farmers, etc. Basically play the way WE want you to play." I understand about some things, like the Vex Nerf, Atheon & Crota Cheese patches, & special ammo reduction in crucible, but those are game breaking elements that needed fixing. Not the stuff I mentioned earlier.
But also, the Dark Souls 2 inventory/item box is amazing, buuuuut the example doesn't really apply here as your items/weapons in that game are saved locally while in this game, EVERYTHING you own is stored on a "cloud" so-to-speak. They won't even splurge for dedicated servers, I highly doubt they'll increase their memory to accommodate us collectors.

A bit of an abstract point, but it we were dogs, they'd let us off the leash but lock us in the yard.
