Depression is one of those things that no one likes to talk about and skip over, I have suffered for the last few years. late last year having attempted to take my own life more than once. Destiny was one of the things that really helped me in a bad time, yes grinding for that galla or chest runs helped . my marriage turned toxic for other reasons and the safety of my children were in question. Destiny and its community has helped me cope with a really hard time in my life and allowed me to come out the other end healthy and safe. thanks bungie thanks streamers goth and broman and thanks all you others (filter out trolls)
I lost my real family when my wife played 15 hours a day on facebook while i worked full time cooked and cleaned the house not having a break for 8 years coming home after working away from home to find rotten food on the floor, bins overflowing, no food for the kids to eat and nothing clean to eat with. no bedding on and having to put a lock on my 3 year olds door to keep her safey while my wife slept having been playing till 3 am, no destiny helped me cope when i had no other restbite

You make an excellent point here about Facebook. Some of those people who slate us gamers for our passions/addiction lol, call it what you will, are the same people who spend an unhealthy amount of time engrossed in the lives of other people. I left Facebook months ago and realised how toxic that kind of social media can be. At least in this community we all have a common ground which is the game itself. I would find myself checking Facebook every few minutes and I didn't even know why, like it was some kind of reflex. I quit it as soon as I realised i was beginning to compare the lives of people, some I've never even met, to my own life. My advice to anyone who is feeling low and is a regular Facebook user, get of that shit immediately!

2 AntwortenA very wise man once said We all know life can get hectic But if you live in the second, You exist in the present And that's how you stay connected Go through good times and hardships And if you learn to accept it And know that every struggle in life, Is there to teach you a lesson It's times like this that make you It's always the darkest part of the night, right before the sun has it's break through The spirits there to knock you down, But if you make that the end You will never know the beauty Of being able to stand up again

151 AntwortenBearbeitet von W34KN35S: 6/13/2015 6:32:55 AMFriend Im glad Destiny helped you but if you don't find the root cause of the depression then it will come back. Most people spend their life switching from this to that trying to find purpose or meaning or even happiness. Life has its enjoying moments but it always fades after time. Jesus Christ is the only way to fill that need or hole in your life. God is a God of hope and everyone who believes in him knows one thing for sure , that when this life is over they will spend eternity with him in his presence, where there are no more tears , no more sickness , and no more death. They might even have Destiny there to play lol . I pray that my words reach you even in the slightest way. Edit : I would like to apologize personally for all the people that you've met that were either claiming to be a Christian or even were misguided. I assure you though the evidence or the qualities that a believer will have are love ,joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness , and self control. So again if you've met anyone that says they are a Christian and did not show these qualities then I apologize personally to you all. Secondly , I did not come to argue because honestly with all the evidence in the world you can't make someone believe who doesn't want to....... So I leave you with this question : WHAT IF YOU ARE WRONG? With something as important as eternity , is it worth it to make a decision that will effect you eternally without looking at all the evidence.

Same here mate. Had an attempt a few weeks ago. Got the help I needed from a doctor and the support from my family AND my destiny clan mates. I battle depression with psychosis. Sucks. But it is what it is and you are not alone by any means. PM me if you ever need an objective ear..

8 AntwortenI've battled depression and anxiety for most of my life. It's something that never truly goes away so it's necessary to find hobbies to keep yourself occupied. Playing games is what helps me the most. My boyfriend broke up with me after being together for 3 years last week and playing Destiny with my friends (all of whom I met from playing the game) has helped kept me from digging myself into a dark hole. Having something as small as a game to look forward to in these difficult times can make all the difference.
