I live in the USA, and the few times that I put up an LFG post if I want more people, for whatever reason, about half of all the randoms are British. They're always so nice and friendly and are usually the ones I add after the raid instead of just a one time thing.
Not that I've had any problems with anyone else during raids, in fact, I can't even remember the last time I've had to kick someone out of a raid. But in my personal experience, this is what 90% of randoms who join me in my raids is like: (We'll call him Bob)
*Bob joins party chat and game*
Bob: "We doin' Crota?"
Me: Yep
*Silence*
*More silence*
Bob: Firing my rocket.
*Cricket chirps*
Bob: *Coughs in his mic*
*Extra silence sauce for your silence*
*Crota dies*
Bob: Alright thanks
*Bob has left the party*
Of course I don't mind, and I'm usually engaging in random talk with my friends in the lobby. Especially if they can get the job done, then I don't mind if they're quiet and I'm more than happy. But out of the random LFG players I've played with, it's always the British people that greet us when they join, converse with us, laugh, and just seem like they're having fun. I don't know, maybe I just got a good group, but if you take all of the people I've friended from Destiny only, probably three-quarters of them are British (or at least their LFG said "Europe" and they sounded British lol).
Anyways, how is y'all's experiences with random teammates personality-wise? (Of any nationality) Quiet? Talkative? Friendly? Rude? Annoying?

4 AntwortenWe are very cool us British. We are also very cool at making cups of tea, making bacon sarnies and excellent at waiting patiently in queues. We are also very polite, we like to say sorry a lot even if we haven't done anything wrong.

I'm English and my favourite people to play with are Dutch and Americans (even though ones that have to take a break every 5 minutes to hit their bong). On pantheon ToO me and my friend found an American guy on LFG and were about half way to flawless when he DC'd. We got a loss but he didn't so we helped him get to flawless but then he actually stayed with us while we did another whole passage to get our flawless which was really good of him. Another American guy we were raiding with once had to stop us all because his dog took a shit on his floor and he had to clean it before his wife got home, he made me laugh for about an hour straight.

If other people are talking, I'll talk. I'll talk peoples ears off, believe me. If other people aren't talking or are talking about completely uninteresting/things that don't relate to me, then I don't talk. I'm comfortable with both really, I've had great raids with both kinds. Only types of randoms that really bug me are the kinds that don't shut up when it's clear nobody cares what they're talking about, or when they have obnoxiously loud music playing.

1 AntwortenThis post only offers the readers a taste of personal prejudice and stereotyping that the author functions with. I am from the US. I read pointless and inaccurate insults that generalize about US citizens all the time. I abhor these types of generalizations based off one's home country. Whether it is positive or negative, it is still stereotyping and it serves no purpose other than to create in-groups and out-group to make some people feel better about themselves. Even though this type of prejudice does not aim to degrade on group directly, we cannot ignore its harmful nature. The worst part is that I did not see one other comment condemning this type of behavior. Maybe as a group this forum can learn to stop blowing smoke up each other's asses or trying to insult them.

1 AntwortenI'm an American, I find the maturity & respect level higher with Brits.

90% of the randoms I play with do not talk and/or are rude. The other 10% are British

I play with people from Europe(multiple countries) and we fight over how its said or called

I'm British and I find that three quarter of my friends list consists of people from the USA and most of them did say they loving raiding with British people. Tbh when someone first said it to me I thought it was a troll because years of CoD made me think the American gaming community hated the British through the constant jibes and hatred show. Maybe it's because destinys a bit more of a social game.

I tend to not talk as much in raids/Poe that I join from LFG or this happens Me: Okay are we doing an ammo run? Leader: Stfu squeaky Bitch You have been removed from fireteam

Bearbeitet von Treebeard: 6/10/2015 12:39:11 PMI'm British, and I've met my fair share of complete idiots from all countries, but also friendly and helpful people. I try to be respectful to people I play with, and often they reciprocate that. I don't think race really affects how someone behaves. I did once play with an American guy who wouldn't stop going on about how he owned guns and we couldn't, but I've also met some British guys who were legit 'I'm gonna rek ya, ya yankee tossers'. So I'd say we're even.

Yeah it's weird, I'm British and I have loads of American's added and they claim to enjoy raiding with British people. I don't mind because the Americans I have added are hilarious, only the odd couple annoying with constantly shouting at children in the background etc whereas most other countries, in my experience, would mute the mic to talk to someone else.
-
I did the 34,32 Poe and the nightfall with the same Brits they were hilarious

I just love the slang they use. And they do seem to be the nicest and are having fun. I'll take a Brit or two for any game.

I've always played with very violent British people. Super pissed off. Idk why.

Black people are always the funniest :P never met a black man on xbox that wasn't funny and nice, always good to play with Also met some British people like you've said who are cool as.. It just depends on how lucky you are I guess to get a good player who likes to converse a little and all that

2 AntwortenBeing from the UK (wales) I try not to do it with Americans purely because of the time difference and the fact they always seem to be eating or stoned or both lol That being said 90% of them are good to raid with Bit the nicest and chilled out guys are the dutch
