DLC Concerns

I'm going to start off by saying, yes I'm getting HoW. I have the expansion pass. I am disappointed at no Raid, but interested and excited to see what Prison of Elders holds for us PvE centric players. I am looking forward to what the HoW missions have in store. My concern is simply: "what exactly am I paying for?" Reforge weapons: Available to all New level cap: Available to all New Social Area: Available to all New armour/weapons: Available to all You get the idea. The same happened with TDB. "Check all this stuff out that is being released with The Dark Below*"
*Most of it is available to people who don't pay anything anyway but it releases at the same time so we're calling it part of the bundle
Lets have a look at TDB: New Story missions (paid) New Bounties (paid) New Raid (paid) New PvP maps (paid) New armour (free) New weapons (free) New materials (free) New level cap (free) New exotic upgrade system (free) (I'm sure there's more) So far on HoW: New Story Missions (paid) New Bounties[?] (paid) [they kinda ignored that question] New PvP Activity (paid) New PvE Activity (paid) New reforge system (free) New weapon upgrade system (free) New weapons (free) New armour (free) New materials (free) New material exchange system (free) New Social Area (free) (Again, I'm sure there's more) So what am I paying £20 for exactly? (Ok, technically £17.50 since the pass was £35). One of Destiny's biggest issues from release was the lack of content, and I applaud Bungie for trying to address that by putting out more stuff for everyone. But does it have to be at the cost of paying customers? The recurring negative point in reviews for 'The Dark Below' was "lack of content". Perhaps if it wasn't nearly 50% of the games cost that wouldn't have been an issue. Or if more content had been released to people who are paying for it instead of advertising a robust package stuffed to the brim with freebies. I worry that HoW is going down the same route. Advertise a truckload of new stuff that you get with HoW release, then release everything but the core fundamentals to anyone with the game, regardless of DLC purchase. When I buy a nationwide bus ticket that allows me free travel anywhere within a 500 mile radius, I don't expect to hear that the first 400 miles is free to anyone anyways. TL/DR: Bungie is advertising this apparently big expansion. But if you strip away all the free stuff, I just don't feel I'm actually getting my moneys worth. I agree that a lot of the free additions should be free, but to advertise them as part of the paid expansion is just dishonest padding to make it seem like we're getting more than we actually are. Similar to buying a packet of crisps, and opening it to see that the top 3/4 is actually just air. Share your thoughts.
I AM NOT SAYING THAT THE FREE STUFF SHOULD BE REMOVED OR MADE TO BE PAID FOR
EDIT1: Spellcheck EDIT2: For people who keep saying time played = value for money.
I was in Florida a little over a 2 Months ago. There's a place there, near Orlando, called 'The Old Town', or 'Fun Spot USA'. They have various rides there which are fun but the two that stand out are the 'SkyCoaster' and the 'Slingshot' The SkyCoaster cost $45 approximately and lasts 4 minutes from the point you get strapped in. The Slingshot is roughly $40 and lasts about 3 minutes from the point you get strapped in. So a total cost of $85 provided me with entertainment for a little under 10 minutes. I'd still gladly pay that again because they were exceedingly fun and worth my money. If total playtime equals value for money, then the next hit release should be set in a target range with one objective, 'shoot a million bullets to win'. You only get a 6-shooter revolver to do so. Cost of the game £50. Time played to completion ought to be around 75 hours after you factor in the realistic reload time and the bullet fetching mini game. But hey, that's only 50p per hour right? Totally worth it.
