I'm a 13 year old boy who likes playing destiny but, even when doing raids, I am afraid of speaking in party chat because my voice is quite high which annoys people making them kick me from parties and raids... I'm not annoying and I'm mature.
My question is -
Should I speak in party chat with my fire team and risk getting told that I'm a gay little -blam!- or should I stay the way I am?
Sorry if I can't reply to everyone!
Edit: a lot of people have been asking for what console I play on. I play on Xbox 360 and my GT is Static Gridlock

1 AntwortenPeople shouldnt mind your voic, just dont be pike you are the boss and do your job in the raid and nobody should be mattered
-
1 AntwortenIf your on PS3 then add me. I go off skill and ability to listen and learn. As long as you can work well then that's all I ask for PSN same as name
-
Everyone thinks I'm a squeaker..... ....I'm 22 years old, goddamnit. My voice is just high-pitched.
-
If on the 360, add me. GT same as name.

My.voice is normally full.of bad language so I don't mind a high voice kid as it stops my swearing .......sometimes. I helped a kid thru the lamps today only a level 27 had the game 2 weeks he was stoked that we helped him but the poor kid got shards LOL welcome to scrota dude
-
Dude as long as your not moaning and telling people how to do stuff that's stupid you will be fine. We all had squeaky voices once part from girls obv.
-
No offence but at thirteen you're not mature. Find others of a similar age until your balls drop.
-
Who cares what people say just ignore them they are just ignorant
-
It's not the pitch of 'squeakers' voices that people find annoying in a raid, it's the constant commentary. Talk when you need to talk but don't have a running commentary on every shot you take and you'll be fine.
-
Grow some balls and speak up who cares if people find you annoying real friends will just keep on playing with you. Pew is annoying as -blam!- yet so many people watch him

1 AntwortenI don't necessarily think you should be quiet. My issue with younger players is the "know-it-all" attitude they bring. I seem to encounter it more with them than the older players. Second, the other day, I joined a party chat, while helping out some guys to finish Crota on hard. This kid, who sounded maybe 11 or 12, joined the chat and started asking "What are you guys doing? What are you guys doing?", repeatedly. It was pretty godd*mn annoying.
-
-blam!- them lol. As long as you don't act like an idiot, nobody has a right to talk shit to you.
-
1 AntwortenStay the way you are. Never change your ways for people on a video game.
-
Just don't ramble... I -blam!-ing hate the kids that ramble about how they never get anything good and they already have that exotic or how annoying it is to kill the Templar
-
It's only an issue if you have the attitude that normally comes along with it, which you don't seem to have. You appear to be a relatively mature person and should be able to input your views on the task at hand. Of course you are going to get those people who won't take you seriously regardless of how helpful and polite you are. People like that aren't worth your time anyways so I'd say just move on and find a new group. Most players are going to just care about you on a personal experience. If you act mature you will be treated as such, and to those that you moved on from, just take it as a personal victory that a 13 year old is more mature than them :) Good luck man, you sound like you have a good head on your shoulders. Just don't tell everyone how mature you are when you first meet them lol let your actions speak for you

If you don't scream and are helpful, people tend not to mind. I've noticed the people I've picked up on the forums (for the most part) are really cool people.
-
Don't talk a lot and if there aren't any other squeakers in the party, they should be able to handle it.
-
4 AntwortenWell generally it's not the high voice that makes people annoyed. It's the attitude that comes with it. Just keep your cool, and don't bully. That's an issue I tend to see with younger players. You're 13, so you are old enough to buy the game on your own, and no one has the right to say your not supposed to be here. Destiny has a target audience of 14. Just be cool.

1 AntwortenIf they make fun of you its just a team of dicks and you'd be better with someone else
-
I had a raid group with 2 gay guys that knew each other irl talking about doing unspeakable things to each other......if i can keep my cool through that i think i can put up with any squeaker.
-
1 AntwortenJust know what you're doing or follow directions. Don't push your mic down your throat (watch your volume) and be friendly. Communication is KEY for raids.
-
As long as you're personality isn't annoying you shouldn't get kicked. You might, but you shouldn't. Just take it (semi) seriously and you'll be fine. Beware of assholes, guardian.
-
1 AntwortenIt's not your age or the sound of your voice. I've only seen two younger hairdo and kicked from Fire teams I was in. Mainly because they won't stop making annoying noises or because they expect everyone to stop what we were doing so we can watch them use their super to kill 4 whole enemies at once. It comes down to how you treat people and represent yourself. Be cool, don't make annoying noises anytime there's silence on chat for more than 3 seconds, and be a good team mate and you could be 30 and sound like your 5 for all anyone cares.
-
I had the same exact problem as you about 4 months ago :) Then my voice got deeper and people think I'm 17! You might get a few nasty comments, but they'll be at a bare minimum if you just keep your cool.
-
As long as you don't scream at the top of your lungs, they shouldn't mind

There are a lot of good and nice people online. It just so happens that you hear of the bad encounters more then the good ones
