Im scared of speaking in party chat...
I'm a 13 year old boy who likes playing destiny but, even when doing raids, I am afraid of speaking in party chat because my voice is quite high which annoys people making them kick me from parties and raids... I'm not annoying and I'm mature.
My question is -
Should I speak in party chat with my fire team and risk getting told that I'm a gay little -blam!- or should I stay the way I am?
Sorry if I can't reply to everyone!
Edit: a lot of people have been asking for what console I play on. I play on Xbox 360 and my GT is Static Gridlock

Just make the decision on your own and stick with it.

I don't ever talk unless I have to (ie calling out something or letting people know I'm going to die, need assistance, etc). So if all else fails, just do that. People won't care at all. This has nothing to do with age though. There was a 30+ year old who would not stop talking, cussing, blaming everyone else for him dying etc on a raid. Doesn't matter the age. That behavior is what's annoying to me.

Not being a dick but I don't think any boy or girl under the age of 18 should be talking to strangers. The fact this is encouraged is disturbing. Go play outside dude. Before you know it your fat and 26 with no friends.

I speak to the people in my clan, but these randos in this community are awful people... As long as you're actually doing whatever the rest of the fire team is doing, I say stay the way you are.

3 AntwortenI would say when you get in the chat just come out strong and confident like "hey guys, I'm 13, I'm running sword, I'm the boss now, everyone shut up" that might work. You never know till you try. What console do you use anyways?

Speak when spoken to, or only when you have a question about the task you are engaged in. The sound of your voice isn't what matters it's what you say. Examples - no-one cares what happened to you at school today - no-one cares that you have 3 Ghorns - don't ask about Op PvP weapons while raiding. - when you get the drop you are looking for try not to scream directly into the mic. These are a few of the things I notice sqeakers do that I can't stand.

Easy solution, don't speak. Unless you are mature, and that has nothing to do with your voice.

Type everything you want to say into Google translate, then have it repeat what you typed into your mic

Bearbeitet von goose1521: 4/20/2015 8:46:05 PMSqueakers aren't defined by voice alone. I have no problem playing with a high voice if the attitude is ok and no shouting into the mic. I abandon even for mature voices if they are shouters.
