Edit: I've already heard a lot of mentions of shoulder charge, which I must admit is a very good point that I did not think of. That said, while technically shoulder charge is a melee attack, it's still not a part of the melee perk tree. It's separate and should be thought of as separate. Titans shouldn't have to use up one of their other perks to make up for a lackluster melee ability. I can't use shoulder charge in clutch situations at close range. Plus shoulder charge isn't really all that useful.
In the perk spot that Titans get shoulder charge, Defenders get iron harvest, sunsingers get angel of light (literally my favorite perk in the game), voidwalkers get bloom, bladedancers get stalker!, and gunslingers get over the horizon. Strikers should have to waste a perk spot like that just to make up for shitty melee. Shoulder charge is and should be thought of as an additional perk, not a compensation.
Now I'm not one to sit on the forums and call nerfs for everything that kills me and buffs for everything I can't kill with, but I believe storm fist is a special circumstance. Every single other class/subclass has an awesome melee ability, and strikers are left with shit.
Voidwalker Energy Drain: drains enemy energy over time and uses it to charge grenade. Pretty cool! Plus you can use life steal to instantly regenerate a portion of health, or the surge perk allows you to move around and switch weapons and reload faster. That's extremely useful!!
Sunsinger Scorch: sets -blam!-ing enemies ON FIRE dealing damage over time, plus using flame shield gives you and extra shield for a bit. I always use that in clutch situations.
Gunslinger Throwing Knives: seriously? A ranges melee? How awesome is that? Then using the incendiary blade perk sets enemies on fire and deals damage over time. Or you could use knife juggler to instantly recharge when you hit precisions. It's also the only melee attack you can hit precisions with.
Bladedancer Blink Strike: This melee attack is super fast, hasn't extended range, and do I even need to mention? It can turn you -blam!-ing invisible!! Not much else needs to be said about that. It's ridiculously useful.
Defender Disintegrate: Creates a bonus shield around you! Plus using the war machine perk (my favorite) allows you to switch and reload weapons insanely fast. It's such a great ability to have. I once had a machine with a reload perk that stacked, and I reloaded it as fast as I reload my MIDA.
Striker Storm Fist: a slightly more powerful melee attack that deals arc damage..... Really that's it!? Unless arc burn is on, the extra damage it does is negligible. And it doesn't even have any good perks to make up for it. Come on guys. This is a Titan Striker!! Getting hit with storm fist should WRECK people. You can't even one hit kill level 30 vex goblins with storm fist. And in the crucible it's just as bad. What business does a hunter have surviving a storm fist melee attack from a Titan. Titans are supposed to be an immovable force. If you get close enough to a Titan for him to punch you in the face with his melee ability, that should be a one hit kill. Titans also have the lowest range out of the classes on their melee, which is fine, but it needs to be compensated with power.
I think storm fist should be a one hit kill in crucible, and you should also be able to one hit kill a level 30 knight with it. That melee attack should be POWERFUL. It doesn't need to be special or fancy, seriously a damage upgrade would do just fine. Anyone else agree? Disagree?

It should give an effect around the Striker that mirrors 25%-50% of the damage dealt by enemies! THEN it would be useful
-
Maybe if they halved the range and boubled the damage, that would be acceptable?

6 AntwortenYes because Transfusion and AoE are just not worth mentioning at all. Note the sarcasm.

In endgame PvE melee is a joke. When I'm level 30 my shoulder charge doesn't even one shot a level 26 vandal in a roc strike. And it's sad storm fist is so bad since Striker is a melee/close quarters class.
-
A Titan is a Titan...he should have the strongest melee out of all. The range should be better too.
-
Switch the damage of shoulder charge and storm fist.
-
nope, its fine

2 AntwortenYou didn't even mention the Storm Fist's skill tree. Infusion = Life Steal Discharge can damage multiple targets and does more damage to initial target in crucible. Overload can give another storm fist if your lucky.

1 AntwortenShoulder charge, end of discussion.

1 AntwortenStorm Fist has a short range because a Titan was designed to be close-quarters based. If you're not touching the enemy's chest, you're not close enough. LOL

1 AntwortenHave you heard of... SHOULDER CHARGE??

I would be fine if they buffed storm fist, however non-Titans would complain a ton and then it would be nerfed back to where it is or worse

Shoulder charge /thread

I think the strength of Storm Fists should remain as-is. But it should work the same way as Disintegrate. It should only be consumed and require a recharge if it kills your target.
-
You can put life steal on it if you want I belive it's called transfusions, strikers are the only class with a 1 hit beatdown(shoulder charge) so I think it balances that
-
5 AntwortenOk the Hunter knife sucks and I do agree with you on storm fist but that's why you get shoulder charge bro. It's kinda a trade off.
-
Strikes do have shoulder charge...
-
Agree with you man, I main a Hunter and have done subclasses on all characters, most recently Striker, and you're right about that, there needs to be some advantage to storm fist other than arc damage and looking cool.
