While I appreciate your willingness to make changes to the game based on players' feedback, some of the changes feel like they were in reaction to complaints logged by PVP players only, and the consequence has been that a lot of PvE experiences have suffered.
The pulse rifle and shotgun buffs were nice, but were PvE players complaining about Thorn or Hawkmoon having too much range? Were people doing HM Crota complaining about armor-piercing rounds shooting through rock pillars to stagger the sword bearer?
Since it's possible to equalize weapons in the crucible, is it possible to have the guns perform differently in PvE than in PvP? Folks are obviously still finishing the hard raid, but your recent gun nerfs have made it difficult in ways that have little to do with game skill. For example, if the team can't get the swordbearer to sit still and he wanders too far to left or right, it's a wipe. Armor-piercing rounds on a sniper rifle were really useful perks until you tweaked it. Isn't the raid hard enough?
Since it appears that PvP represents only about 15% of total time spent in the game, how about listening to the rest of us? I speak for the rest of my regular raid guys that you've adversely affected the PvE experience with those recent weapon tweaks.
Edit: trending now. Thanks all! Let's keep it alive in here!
Edit 2: thanks for all the bumps and feedback! I love this game and I'm excited about where it can go, but this post came in response to a really tough HM Crota that we just couldn't get done. All experienced players who had the mechanics down but kept getting killed by that one little misstep or bad timing. It's lame that if you can't get the swordbearer down within about 3 seconds the raid is essentially over. Armor-piercing rounds were a difference-maker and that was taken away. Being able to shoot through those rocks didn't "break" the raid, but they definitely shaved a little difficulty off an already challenging experience.
Edit 3: crazy, I never thought this would get traction or spark so much dialog. DeeJ (or any Bungie developers reading), don't hesitate to shoot me a PM and let me know what you guys think about readjusting some of your recent tweaks ;)

7 AntwortenI wish people would stop polarizing the issue into an, "us vs them" argument. The sandbox boys looked at the numbers for both PVP and PvE. That's why there was a shotgun buff on the first place. That's why they are looking at strikes. I promise you, handcannons in PvE were way too good. I would snipe fallen in the mothyards at scout rifle ranges while running bounties. The patch was geared to both sides of the game, but if you want to put on your blinders and pretend it was because they saw one thread and said, "let it be so" go ahead.
