Destiny's downfall: Crucible

I'd like to start out on a positive note. The game mechanics are as solid as any Bungie title I've played. The game was built well, and popping guys domes doesn't get old. But what keeps me from recommending it to friends, and playing it over Minecraft or Battlefield, is the lack of accomplishment. I included a link to a montage [http://youtu.be/X3CFIYKGKpc] I made of me playing crucible to show that I'm not just a whiney wet pants who lacks the skills needed to enjoy it. I very much enjoy crucible, but I find myself feeling empty after playing. It doesn't matter that I go 30-5. It doesn't matter if I win or lose. It doesn't matter if I participate in any aspect within a match. All that matters is that I finish matches. Attrition is king. Sure, winning will accelerate getting crucible marks, but not significantly. There is no reward for being a crucible BAMF. No ranking system that allows for progression or accomplishment. The only thing to look forward to is a "random" exotic drop. I'm convinced that the game actually rewards the players who perform the worst in order to boost confidence and make them feel like they don't actually suck huevos. Attrition based rewards make me not want to play the game at all. I don't have much free time with a wife and two kids. (And number three on the way!) Frustration fills my heart because no amount of skill can make up for time played. And the only way to get max level is to hope and pray it drops in a raid? Even with a game mode that allows level advantages, Iron Banner, there is no end result of satisfaction. What do you obtain by winning? Gear? Weapons? Logos? For what?!? Just to have them? So you can progress in a game mode which you have already progressed in? Give me a reason, Bungie. Give me a goal to obtain that has lasting satisfaction. A performance based goal. An end result that after a night of gaming I can feel accomplished. Bounties aren't enough. Bounties should be a side task, not a main objective. Originally Crucible had intrigue because I was a young pup with nothing but blue weapons. But now that I have only exotics and legendaries I find myself seeking a purpose. I have the gear, but no reason to use it. -Xerxes222

  • I completely agree with you I am on the top of the team about 60 percent of the time I am by no means a bad Crucible player and I watch repeatedly game after game where I'm at the top of the team with a 2.0 KD and the guy at the bottom who has a 0.2 KD gets a gjallarhorn or plan C or dragons breath and I never get s*** the only time I have ever gotten an exotic weapon from the crucible was when I was third or worse on the team that is unacceptable what is the point of being good if you are purposefully not given anything for it. I can honestly say that I have never seen someone on the top of the team get an exotic how do you justify this bungie how do you justify punishing the people who take your game seriously and really excel at it this has got to change or the people who are good are going to quit playing like myself.
