I want to suggest that the reason why so many people use one weapon at a time is because dropping back to the menu screen mid fight to swap one primary for another is nearly possible. On my PS3 it can take 45 seconds or longer for the menu screen to load. So I generally select one primary, one secondary, and one heavy an I run my strikes with those weapons. In crota or VOG there are natural breaks between sections where one can swap primary, secondary, and heavy weapons. But in a normal strike, crucible match, or weekly you just can't easily switch because the menu screen loads so slowly. Rather than nerfing weapons maybe bungee could provide a hot bar so that I could preload 6 or so weapons and one button toggle switch between them. That way I could load 2 or 3 different primary weapons and swap primaries mid fight. If I could do that reliably I would no longer be running a strike using only one primary for all of my kills. Maybe inside the bungee offices the menu screen loads instantaneously, but out here in the wild the menu screen is not really usable in the heat of battle. Maybe you should collect stars on how long it takes the menu screen to load and you will see why people generally run with a single weapons profile.
